Camas Hotelthis place totally sucks. the staff if. this place totally sucks. the staff is rude. the upper floor rooms are disgusting and the people staying in them are scary. they rent out the upper floors by the week and they attract the bottom of the barrel. this place is nasty and should be avoided at all costs. the owners are this idiotic yuppie couple on heavy meds. the whole town stinks like dead roadkill from the paper mill two blocks away. trains roar through town all day and night
Charming hotel, surrounded by quaint
restaurants and little gift shops!
Cozy rooms, great customer service! Mostly recommended! A real
postcard from the past, with all amenities from the present.
Amanda is in charge, she knows everything about hospitality and will make you feel at home! And if you like movies, she has a special surprise/ complimentary gift for you!
Perfect boutique hotel!.
This hotel was a wonderful little find. They have their own restaurant on the 1st floor (Olivers) who have a full bar as well as an appetizing menu.
Karen & Tom are the owners and do their best to accommodate any requests you make. They are dog friendly too. We got one of the smaller rooms, which was so well done that we weren't bothered by the size at all. It was very cozy and extremely clean. The bed was super comfortable and because Camas lacks nightlife, we could actually get a good nights rest (unlike our nights in downtown Portland where people are hooping it up until 2am!). The outside of this hotel doesn't look like much from the posted photo but it's well worth a visit. The rooms include a wonderful open breakfast and we enjoyed fresh blueberries, cherries, yogurt, toast, bagels, etc. out on the terrace along with the morning paper.
We will visit this place again. It may seem like it's out of the way, but it's really a short drive into Portland. It's worth every minute!
Excellent place--location, amenities and quiet.
The Camas Hotel is far and away the best hotel/motel we have ever stayed at! The place is an historic building on the outside and a competely remodled B & B on the inside. The rooms are lovely with high end furnishings. The staff is frendly, and seem like family.
Very important to me are the beds. I never sleep well on the lumpy beds found in the cookie cutter chain/clone motels. But here, the beds are so incredibly comfortable that I slept soundly from the first night on. And, also important, the place is quiet, even during the day.
There is a nice breakfast of freshly brewerd coffee, juice, milk, cereal, bagels, english muffins and pasteries each morning in a kitchen that's just a short walk down the hall. And, if the morning is nice, you can enjoy the morming on a lovely open air patio right off the breakfast room to read the provided morning paper.
There are so many little things and amenities that contribute to the excellent stay at the Camas Hotel like: an ironing board and iron in the room, hair dryer in the bath room, real glass wine glasses and cork screw in the refrigerator cabinet, copier and fax downstairs, and a mini-library in the breakfast room with some very good books.
Since it is in the middle of downtowm Camas, you can walk to several restaurants like Harwoods, and Around the Table, to a few antique dealers, and to the public library, a block and a half away, to check your email.
And, for all of this, the price is so affordable! You cannot go wrong staying at the Camas Hotel. We will be back for sure!
Not only beautiful, but comfortable. The newly-renovated (a BIG renovation) Camas Hotel is not only gorgeous, but so very comfortable. A great home-away-from-home with the very best hotel bed I've ever stayed in. Other hotels could learn a thing or two from them. I get so sick of paying good money to stay in a hotel with a lousy bed. Don't they know the bed is THE most important thing in a hotel room? The Camas Hotel has that AND more. They do it right. Wish they were further away from my home so I had an excuse to stay there more often!
Looking for an inexpensive getaway?.
The Camas Hotel is less than 25 minutes from downtown Portland. Pricing is very affordable. The accommodations are excellent. Attractively designed and appointed, this charming hotel does not skimp on comfort or service that rivals the best concierge,
From the bedding (great mattress, high thread count sheets and fabulous pillows) to the little details like the high quality toiletries, nothing has been overlooked by the owners.
My wife and I celebrated our anniversary there and plan to make visits a yearly ritual. Bravissimo!
Thank you! Happy Loyal customers are like sunshine in January here in the Northwest!

It's all about the beds!. If you are looking for a nice, private boutique hotel, then the Camas Hotel is it. The beds are amazing. I have a bad back and I'm brutally picky about beds. I don't know what kind they have, but it's the only hotel I've ever been in where I didn't want to run home to my own amazing bed. Really first class in every respect. And extremely affordable. A great little getaway.
Charming Bed and Breakfast Hotel.
