Editorial Review for Beaches Restaurant & Bar – by Ted Katauskas
In Short
On weekends, the filled-to-capacity 200-seat dining room, lofty as a barn, buzzes with energy. The mayhem inside is balanced by the serenity just beyond the wall of plate-glass windows: the mighty Columbia River. With a huge selection of appetizers, salads, pastas, sandwiches, seafood and main courses, everyone will be pleased. Favorites include char-broiled halibut with salsa, wood-fired vegetarian pizza and juicy hamburgers.

Insider Tips
The ExtrasWhile you wait for your table (up to an hour on weekends), check out one of the restaurant's beach cruiser bicycles and go for a ride.
Where to SitThe best seat in the house is the granite-topped Charity Table (seats six) with high-backed chairs beside two panes of glass; it's available for an extra $10, which is donated to a local charity.
Know Before You GoFor the kiddies, there are plastic pails of toys and free ice.

Beaches absoulutely wowed my husband and I. These people are the true experts on customer service. We made a reservation and the manager who handled the call recommended the Charity table. They actually hold the best table in the house for kids in need. So of course we took it and when we arrived we were seated immediately buy a very friendly, pretty hostess. Once we were seated our server came over very quickly and introduced himself and asked our names. He talked us into the Nori Tuna. It came out in a flash. I forgot to mention the perfect drink I had, it was some kind of succulent strawberry Martini. The Martini was chilled to perfection and went down way too smooth. Oh my God, I haven't even mentioned the perfect view! The owner even stopped by. I can't say enough about this place, but I'm out of room! JUST GO PEOPLE!

Review for dinner on 07/06/08. Four out of six water glasses had something floating - disgusting! Drink order was forgotten for 2 people. When forgotten drinks finally came they were wrong drinks. Waiter forgot to take order from 2 people and almost left. Waiter also asked if mashed potatoes would be ok as a side for a pasta dish - ??? Appetizers were delivered, but had to wait for waiter to come by to ask for silverware as table was not set up at all. My knife was completely dirty. Cesar salads were awful - greens not fresh and completely withered and croutons were soggy. One meal had hair in jo jo's. Side of ranch was ordered which came quite quickly, but then another waiter came halfway into the meal with another ranch. Drink refills were forgotten. Steak was ordered medium-well, but was over-cooked to a charcoal state. Hamburger was ordered without onion - showed up with onion. Not one assigned waiter to our table - a few different waiters tried to help but nobody knew what they were doing. Waiter with drinks kept walking around from table to table asking if they were the people that ordered certain drinks. Food was delivered to the wrong tables. Staff is very disorganized and nobody seems to know what they are doing. Three out of the six of us got sick from this dinner. people who got sick all ate Cesar salads and some type of seafood. The other 3 people didn't get sick, but they didn't eat any salads or seafood. WE WILL NEVER GO BACK - DON'T GO TO BEACHES!!! THIS RESTAURANT NEEDS TO BE INSPECTED FOR FOOD QUALITY, FOOD EXPIRATION DATES, AND OVERALL CLEANLINESS.
