Fantastic Repair facility!. I have a 18 month old 37 inch samsung LCD. The picture is gone, but I have sound. I looked at many similar complaints on the web and am a bit of a fix it guy. I narrowed it down to a diode on the power supply board. I called this place and they 1) confirmed there was a known issue with this diode on this board, 2) told me the had the diode in stock, 3) installed the diode for me, and 4) charged me a very reasonable price! The person (assistant) I first spoke with is Gordon. The owner, and the person who did the fix (on the spot) is Rex. These guys totally know their stuff and are awesome. If there is something I can't fix, or need quality used equipment, I will definately go back!  View Less View More

Excellent TV Repair and Customer Service. Our 2 1/2 year old LG 42" TV was fine when turned off then was dead when we tried to turn it back on a few hours later--it had sound but no picture. My daughter in-law called all over to try to get some idea of what the problem could be along with information on approximate repair costs (a $ range) and turn around time. Tom at Ableman TV was the only person that would give her his time to explain what he thought it might be and an approximate cost and turn around time. So we took our TV to them (we live in Portland) and within three days we had it back in working order for $165. We are happy campers and would recommend this shop to anyone needing TV repair. They also have a supply of refurbished TVs that are very reasonable. Read the other reviews--they reflect our great experience. I agree, these guys ROCK!  View Less View More

Very Responsive and Helpful. Our five year old SONY TV decided to quit on us one evening and I assumed it would require a repair tech to fix it. Looking at ratings and feedback, I first went to another shop, but after almost 24 hours with no response, decided to try Ableman. My call was picked up by a technician who after listening, suggested it sounded like a lamp issue and advised me that is typically something an owner can replace. He patiently provided detailed guidance as to how to remove the assembly, which I did and brought into the shop. The owner (I think) was at the desk and between answering several calls, was able to find a replacement lamp and installed it for me. He also gave me tips on how to avoid problems when re-installing the assembly into the TV.

While there, I observed he was professional and ethical, in one case advising a potential client the problem he had was not worth repairing due to the age of the TV and the expense to repair it. I'm pretty confident I found a good shop to which I will refer others.  View Less

Honest, Go Out of Their Way Service. Our Samsung TV lamp died on a Sunday. Why did it have to be on a Sunday? We found Ableman TV & Electronics Service on Bing. The website listed the hours of operation Monday through Saturday. Next to Sunday, it read "Call for Service." My husband was skeptical; a burnt out bulb could hardly be considered an emergency - except when you have a three year old and a four year old - then it IS an emergency. When we called, Rex offered to go to the store, make sure he had the right bulb in stock and call us back. An hour later, I'm driving back to Newberg, Oregon with my new bulb. He also gave me some great tips and advice. What a nice man! I will gladly return to Ableman for my next TV purchase or bulb emergency - despite the 49 minute drive. Amazing service...who does that these days? WOW!  View Less View More

Great local business. I found them on google, called. They said to come in. I went in with my Samsug sound bar, which had stopped working a year ago. Two men helped me, both friendly. One contacted Samsung on the internet. The other hooked up the sound bar. and found that the optical cable connectig it to the TV was broken. He replaced it with one that worked. The sound bar worked just fine.

They did not charge for service. They sold me a new optical cable for $10. I was on my way after just a few minutes. Excellent!  View Less
