This place is old (well the lanes) but to spend time with friends/family it is fun. I play Monte Carlo on Saturday evenings and it's very entertaining (well at least our group makes it entertaining, lol!) and you win some money so it's all good! The only problem there is the bowling etiquette, which lacks big time, and the lanes being so old along with the equipment. I read people complain about having their drinks in the lanes, but if there is a bar, with a big a$$ TV, pool tables and video games, why complain you're not allowed on the lanes? That is what the bar side is for, TO DRINK YOUR ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES! You're not showing any respect to the minors there either drinking there, and those who do bowl and drink, they take it WAY too far as they get drunker and stupider! Not a good role model either if bowling with other families there! Also, you're not allowed with your drink on the lanes because if you spill and get the floors wet, then you won't be able to slide on your bowling shoes... common courtesy and sense! Bowling is supposed to be for family/friends to have a good time, you got a bar area to drink and that's what separates that! As far as grouchy old people working there? Once you get to know them they are really nice and a heck of a lot of fun. Show respect and respect is given back! If you don't like coming here, then there's other bowling alley's in the area, and let the regulars and old timers just have fun in Crosley! Just saying!
Rude old lady. I used to bowl here all the time with no problems, then one day the rude graying old lady manager that works Cosmic Bowling decides to make up a rule that if you're not bowling, you can't sit in the bowling area with your friends while they bowl. So for about 10 minutes, I complied, until later I decided to go sneak there. Old lady noticed that I went missing from the lobby(where I was allowed) and came over to tell me I can't sit there. So later I wander over to some miscellaneous area to sit, because being watched in the dining area was not fun. Then I noticed they sent their little slave boy to walk past me and report my location to security. So every time he would walk back to security, I hid for a little while so that he had to pass by another couple times. After some time, they sent security to talk to me and ask me to leave because "they can lose their liquor license," which made absolutely no sense whatsoever! Eventually, they spent the whole night, and all their resources, watching me as the police was called. Had security sit with me, who I decided to play with, by seeing where he'll follow me (not the bathroom, unfortunately). Then the police came, and saw no trouble, but still was a douche and yelled at me, before finding out what's wrong. Overall, fun night, hate the place. Lanes are uneven, and suck. I encourage people to troll the staff.
Crosley Lanes= Great Family Fun!. The owners there must treat there staff very good, because you can tell everyone is happy to be working there! My kids Love it there! Very clean, great prices! Friendly Staff!
Unfriendly to grown ups on weekends.
My old lady and I decided to go on a lark Friday evening. Arrived at 9:30. Told we couldn't bowl becuase they need to "get ready" for cosmic bowling. Suggested we put our stuff "in line" so we could pay at 10:00. At 10:00 we paid. Told we couldn't bowl until 10:30 because they "start the lanes" all at once. Didn't get to bowl until 10:30.
In the meantime no "set up" was required. All they did was turn off the lights.
THEN no waiteress service to lanes AND you had to keep drinks about 30 feet from the lane/tables. Somehow this is to discourage underage drinking.
Staff was also rude when explaining these absurd rules.
Screw this place if you are a grown up and just want to roll on a friday night and have a few beers.
The best bowling around. Allen's Crosley Lanes located in Vancouver is a great place to take the family, meet new people and basically just have a good time. Food and drinks are quality (great burgers) and reasonably priced. The staff is friendly and efficient and the lanes are relatively new. It's a good idea just to go there and check out the murals on the wall on each side of the lanes- it's art!
