My husband and I were at your place on
5-8-2013. We ordered the double steakburger with fries and had to pay extra for onions tomatoe an cheese. It was
$26.00. It was the worse hamburger I have ever had there. Hardly any BBQ sauce. It was always a treat to stop by there on our trips to Portland. I will not be in there again, it was a great disappointment.
The burger is OK and the fries are OK
but that's it. It cost me over $10 for the single burger, a small fries and a med drink. For that price you can go to 5 Guys Burgers and Fries, Roaks in Portland or Don and Joes at the Battle Ground exit. All that I mentioned have food worth bragging about, and a lot of it for the same price. If your going to charge 5.99 for your single burger and call it a jumbo maybe it should be big. it's 1/3 pound (not big by my standard)and the sauce has no flavor. The small fries are about the size of a McDonalds small at twice the price. It seems like this family owned business is trying to live off it's past reputation like so many businesses that are passed down to the children who have no pride in their business like the founding parents do. It was one of those experiences that after eating the food you feel like you got ripped off and gouged for way more than it was worth.
If you want a good burger go to Five Guys. It's close to steakburger and on 78th. They give you about a pound of fries in a small order and the burger is big and one of the best I've had. If you don't mind driving to Portland go to Roaks on Columbia Blvd. Their large burgers are huge. Don't order a platter of fries or onion rings unless you can eat about 4 pounds of them. Roaks is family owned.
<3 Love. It might be a little expensive, but it's a great place to go. They have the best milkshakes, and you can stop in and get one before heading out to the back where you can mini golf! I absolutely love Steakburger
The Best Burger in Oregon/Washington. I have been eating these since 1965. The only bad thing it is 25 miles away from where I live. They have real meat not something that taste like cardboard.
Way too expensive!. I've always thought that the Steakburger building looks kind of cool - Americana-ish - and it's almost surely a family owned business, which I like. So, one day, as my car is getting worked on, I thought that I'd walk down to Steakburger and check it out. I asked the person at the register what's the most popular burger they sell and I'm told the "Jumbo". I get one and am asked if I want onion rings with that. I say sure and give me a glass of water also please. "Ok sir, that will be $8.20 please." Not going to lie to you here, I was kind of taken aback at that price. $8.20 for a larger burger and onion rings? But, I thought OK I'll try it out. Maybe it's the best food I've ever had. After the wait for the food to be brought out to me, I find that I'm kind of disapointed in that it's really just a mediocre big burger and rings. It's OK, but it's just run of the mill stuff. Definitely not worth the eight dollars. And as much as it pains me to say this (as I'm now becoming kind of anti-franchise store) the Whopper at Burger King is basically as good or better than the Jumbo burger and it's less than half the price. Bottom line - Steakburger is just way too expensive for such unimpressive food.
I do go to Steakburger at times, today tho I payed attention to the price of a "large" soda (20oz) cup without ice, price was $2.25.. two dollars and twenty-five cents!!!.. I was utterly floored. Hell at 7-11 i can get a 64oz soda for 99friggin cents.
You know what it costs to them for the cup? maybe 8-20 cents and maybe another 3-5 for straw and lid.. Soda is only 2cents an oz thier cost.
So add that all up for a 20oz soda and thats 51-65cents thier cost.. profit= $1.74- $ 1.60 Per soda.. damn what a racket.
Excellent Customer Service!!! Watch the business grow from this!!!. The management at Steakburger restaurant have obviously been working on hiring people who smile. I have simply had the best overall service there, their management team is on the same page and this restaurant operates so smoothly, and happily, it is unbelievable. I recommend this restaurant for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Lunch is a bit spendy, but well worth it. The meat is so scrumptious, the sauce simply melts your taste buds. This restaurant has been around for so many years, and is being run the best I have seen it in years. Their golf is so inexpensive, 18 holes for 3.00/ 2.00 for kids! WOW! The golf course is so well groomed in the spring and summer months, it is unbelievable. The staff works so hard on grooming, and weeding. In the Christmas season, the owners do a gigantic light display, this has been going on for years, well worth the drive in to see. if you have large groups, all you have to do is call ahead, book your reservation, and the staff will be there for you and your group, weather you are eating, golfing, or just having one of the many, many 6% ice cream milkshakes they have. Tons of flavors, and more to come for this summer of 2007. Customer comment cards are available at the front counter, for the management team to over view and improve certain things. If you leave your name and address on the back, you could recieve something to your benefit in the mail. This restaurant is going to come out with a website in the upcoming months, where you can book your reservation, book a birthday party, or ask for a donation, online. Lets face it, its the year 2007, times have changed, and updating a website is very appropriate here. Come join them for a nice hot breakfast, lunch of dinner, burgers aren't the only thing on their menu. Halibut fish and chips sound good? They have 'em. Things in change as we speak, the management is doing everything in the world for their customers, and their staff. Check it out, it is well worth your time.

Great family atmosphere, customers range from small children and teens to seniors who tell stories of back in the day when Steakburger was their favorite teen hangout.
Classic Vancouver. As long time resident (since birth), I have to recommend Steakburger as a Vancouver staple. Everyone knows that this is the place for: cheap high school date, Saturday afternoon family fun, underage teenager place to hang out with milkshakes & fries, and those of us who like to remember all such times. Basically, it is a Vancouver right of passage to make Steakburger a part of your cache of places to be that you can freely tell your parents about.
horrible service in the morning. I decided to visit for breakfast for the first time, and it was definitely the last time I'll ever go there. You seat yourself and a server comes over to take your order. The only server decided to take two parties' orders before mine (even though I was there first) and even return with their drinks. I know she saw me because she saw us coming in. I waited almost 20 minutes and she still didn't take my order. She was too busy chatting with the regular customers and serving people that came in after me. I just walked out without even ordering.
