Tips for Palm Beach Tan

1.0
June 16, 2010

Nickle and diming. I like to go to Palm Beach Tan because of the convenience of their locations but I find myself wondering if that is most important to me. I understand that they need to do monthly memberships with automatic deducts from accounts but I feel like they are taking advantage of customers. For instance, if you want to upgrade your account - they will do it for you and charge you right away for the extra amount and you can begin tanning in the upgraded beds right away. But if you want to downgrade for the next month, the downgrade will take effect immediately EVEN THOUGH you've already paid for the whole month. They do not let you finish out the rest of the month in your pre-paid package. This is terrible and stealing. Also, they give you the option to put your account on hold (the Stay & Save) which is awesome. BUT the requirements are that you have to notify the staff by the 25th of the month in order to use it and once you let them know, your account is put on hold and ONCE AGAIN you cannot tan for the rest of the month that you have paid for. This is very irritating and I know I am not the only one who feels this way.

This part is specific to the newer location on Fourth Plain Blvd in "The Palms" complex: If you buy the unlimited monthly spray tans - you can use the light or medium (they just changed the names of them. I think it was a level 2 or 3 but now it's something like a light, glow or dark...not sure) but if you want to use the next level (a dark level) you have to pay more for that. What is the deal? Why did I just pay a monthly fee of $65 just to find out that you want me to pay another $6.50 to get a level 3 color? Also, if you are out of the medium spray color, which you were - don't tell me that in order for me to use the dark I need to pay you more. It's not my problem that you're not stocked up on products. You should be apologizing to your customers and stop unfairly taking our money. If the way you do business doesn’t change I'm almost certain that you'll end up with a class action lawsuit.
