Besides Fox Tower, this is hands down my favorite mainstream movie theater. It's really clean, never crowded (so you can almost always put your feet up on the seat in front of you, even on opening night), has competitive matinee rates, AND mix and match candy bins. Plus, you're close to Ocean City and Ha VL, so you can get your goose intestine/pho fix after the movie.
Amazing Comfort. I say that the consessions may be a little high because I spent 30 dollars for 2 people. But I haev to say that it's really worth it... It's clean and that what really matters and usually the people aren't loud theres tons of leg room and no one checks your tickets... after you get seated. You can use your cell phones and no one cares. It works well if you want to take the kids. Theres no lous tenneagers or rude people and theres even an arcade its small but its pretty cool. I totally recommend this theather! You won't be dissaponted unless you see a crappy movie
multiplexes r us. The closest theater to my house which shows all the first-run movies. I like it because the seats are comfortable and the crowds are surprisingly small. I can take my daughter here and feel safe. This might be a shocker but the service has always been friendly and efficient. The theaters are clean and well lit. lot's of parking. I only give it 3 stars because it's a multiplex and it sits next to a Wal-Mart.
Great Theater. Good accessibility, comfortable seating, but no information on-line or by telephone which theater supports handicapped usage. Substandard information, had to make a trip and ask. Waste of my time!
Hard working staff-clean auditoriums-good--if too loud--sound. Great picture. A bargain..
I ran theatres for about 20 years and speak from experience when I say the Century 16/East-
port is 'way above average. Sure, prices are high and snacks are spendy. But whenever feeling negative...remember Tom Moyer's Luxury Theaters. Now clean the sticky stuff off your shoes and enjoy the evening! And the next time you interact with one of the kids on the staff, give 'em a little compliment. They deserve it.

$4.50 for a soda.
$6.00 for a tiny pizza that i waited 8 minutes for them to heat up and it was still cold. sinks full of paper towels.
toilets full of coupons.
stupid people bringing 2 year olds to see Sin City and sit right behind me so i can listen to them cry and whine because they should not be subjected to a movie that is barely appropriate for 18 year olds.
thanks, next time ill rent a DVD.
Excellent and worth the extra money.
I know movies are expensive, and concessions are even more expensive, and I do not like the overpriced food and drink.......however, in the 70's and 80's alot of theater companies built megaboxes with uncomfortable seating, small screens, and equally overpriced food and drink.
Century Theaters has emphasized quality, with comfortable and varied stadium seating, huge screens, excellent sound systems, digital technology, good-tasting food, and fine service. The theaters are clean, safe, and a pleasure to visit again and again.
I will pay anyday for a quality moviegoing experience. I accept that the theaters make most of their profit off concessions, and for those who cannot afford it, don't buy it. But for the rest of us who enjoy being pampered, I am willing to pay alittle extra.
And I love NO COMMERCIALS! Can't wait till Clackamas opens in 2005.
best big theater in PDX. If not for the McMenamins, this would be the best movie house in Portland. They don't serve beer or have couches, but they have easily the steepest stadium seating in town. Their popcorn is good and uses actual butter (Regal uses "popcorn flavor"...grease) and their concessions are abundant. There's an elevator that takes you to the upper level of the main auditoriums, great for those who are in wheelchairs and don't want to sit down front. It's the only truly THX certified theater in town (everyone has THX movies, but not the official certification.)
I love this place. I used to drive from Corvallis to go to this theatre with friends. I'm 5' tall so stadium seating is big for me. The seats also have the arms that you can lift out of your way and snuggle close to someone. There's also the espresso wich is fabulous and the same price as espresso anywhere else. The pizza and hot dogs and desserts are a bit spendy but the drinks, candy, and popcorn seem to be priced at theatre average. They haven't ever had technical difficulties while I was there. Big opening lines are handled nicely. The staff is friendly. The parking lot is huge. I've no complaints.
Teflon'z ratingz. it was a good place, good to make out, it waz awesome, good movie, good staff, it waz all good
It's not Regal - I love it. It may be a chain, but it still feels great to spend money somewhere other than a Regal Cinema in Portland. Not a lot of art films, but a great first run selection with very comfy seating and great (if spendy) concessions selection. If it's not at McM Brothers or the Laurelhurst, catch it here . . .
