In Short – More than 1,000 feet above sea level, on one of the highest points in Portland, this park offers spectacular views of downtown to the east, and sprawling suburbia and the Willamette Valley to the south and west. A long road winds through the elegant West Hills and leads to the park, crowned with a 77-foot water tower that used to be a wooden observatory at the Council Crest Amusement Park. –
We love the Crest!

I 1st stumbled on this park by making a wrong turn 5 years ago when I moved to Portland. It quickly became a fave spot for my boyfriend and I to stroll and enjoy the beauty of this great city and the surrounding mountains. I take all of my out-of-town visitors to the Crest to do some impressing! Great spot!!!
- Pros: VIEW!!!, Walking trails, Near downtown/access
- Cons: nothing, none, it closes!??
