Authentic Cuban Hotspot

Pambiche is an award winning Cuban restaurant and bakery packed with lively Latino character, serving authentic Cuban food based on traditional family recipes. Located in The Apambichao Building on the North end Portland's East 28th Avenue, Pambiche is a funky little restaurant inspired by Caribbean fare and folklore.

Cuban-American chef John Connell Maribona's authentic Cuban cooking is based on island traditions passed through generations of great family cooks from pre-Revolutionary Cuba. Cuban cuisine is a result of Spanish and African influences on indigenous Caribbean cooking. It is the crossroads of tradition, innovation, and identity, full of color, flavor and centuries of creativity. Pambiche's menu offers a diverse variety of popular choices for breakfast, lunch and dinner, including desserts and pastries, Cuban coffee and much more.

Editorial Review for Pambiche – by Citysearch Editors

In Short
The flavors are hot, cuisine authentic and the place abuzz with Spanish-speaking clientele and a bilingual staff. At times, this brightly painted cafe has lines out the door. Weekend nights are especially hoppin' when Portlanders from across town come for fried plantains, fried yucca root, bacalao (sauteed salt cod with fresh vegetables), and empanadas. After dinner, there are fresh and fruity tropical desserts and Cuban espresso.

Our family just visited Pambiche on a whim last Saturday for brunch. What a delightful find! The food was delicious, the atmosphere swirled with color and joy and the service was quick (despite being busy) and the staff was amazingly gracious. We brought our not quite 3 year old son along with us, and not only did they not make us feel bad about the mess he made with his rice, they actually complimented him on his hearty appetite! We had such a nice time I was compelled to email Pambiche to tell them what a great experience we had. That is the mark of a great establishment---when you spend so much time thinking about how wonderful it was that you just have to write and say "Thanks!"

Pros: Friendly service, great food

Cons: I bet it can get pretty crowded!

The best Cuban place this side of Florida. Seriously, I have never found a greater place to get yuca! So tasty but darn spendy. I highly recommend going for happy hour and splurge on food not the expensive drinks... Although the white sangria is so tasty!!!

Pros: Delicous

Cons: Expensive
