I agree, rude.. I had a similar experience with this company. I was referred to Polly from someone who knew her, but did not get a cake from her. We had a 1 1/2 year engagement so that we would have plenty of time to plan our wedding without pressure. I contacted Polly at about 10 months prior to our date and she explained to me that this was too early to hold a spot for a cake with her. She asked that I call back 6 months before. So that I did, and she was really rude this time. Explaining that she was too busy now, she'll be making fewer cakes and that her minimum was around $2,000 now. I had told her that this was strange because she told me to call her back at this time but she seemed unapologetic and unsympathetic. Despite her obvious attitude, I tried to be polite but deep down inside I was really disappointed and felt like we had been bamboozled.

Wonderful, Beautiful Cake. I used Polly's Cakes for my wedding in March 2006. I love her cake (it is SO good). We also loved taking the drive out to Hood River for our tasting. Polly offers a variety of flavors (many of them are local-inspired, with flavors like marionberry and chai) and the cake is so moist and wonderful in your mouth! We ended up choosing a vanilla poppyseed/marionberry filling and chocolate/marionberry filling 3-layer cake. It's a small shop, so you won't always get a receptionist answering the phone, but Polly loves her cakes and she delivered ours in-person on our wedding day. (In response to the other reviewers comments: I would ignore anyone who calls Polly "rude and pretentious" - she is certainly neither of those.) Our wedding was fabulous all-around, and Polly's cake was one of our favorite elements. We would use her again in a heartbeat.

RUDE!!!. I am getting married and had several appointments set up with several cakes shops around town, one being pollys. i confirmed for sure that I wanted to go with a different cake company the day before I was to meet with Polly. When I called to tell her, she was SO rude. She spoke to me like I was a 5-year-old explaining that she is busy and I should have let her know earlier. I let her know when i knew!!! It's not rare that people try several different places and eventually decide to go with one.

Also, the place I did decide to go with does the exact same cake Polly does at HALF the price. It is beautiful and delicious and NON PRETENTIOUS!
