What Our Expert Scouts Say

Gypsy
January 30, 2013

If you don't want to pay for a private room at Voicebox and have no shame, the Gyspy is your stage! If your friends are travelling with you and you want to find a place to hang out and drink, maybe coerce someone into singing because they lost the bet -this is a great spot.

If you like karaoke and people watching...but not my favorite bar on 21st.

Fun food and drink. Odd drink special turned out to be something fairly yummy, and worth a try. Good mac and cheese, although a bit stringy. I'd stay on the bar side rather than the restaurant side if given the choice. Our waitress was super nice and just attentive enough not to be annoying. Definately worth a try on 21st.

A rat-pack dinner club with adjoining seedy lounge in trendy Northwest.. In Short
The '50s kitsch theme takes center stage in the huge dining room, where young and old sit in sparkly vinyl booths. Dinner options include meat loaf, burgers and country-fried steak. The dark lounge in the next room is brimming with novice 20-somethings filling themselves with fishbowl drinks and one of 48 martinis. Hearty breakfast items like the Country Benedict--scrambled eggs and sausage gravy on house-made biscuits--can undo the previous night's damage excellently.

Love the service. My girlfriends and I have a standing date at the Gypsy every other week. Zac is the best bartender in town!! There's always a drink in front of us as soon as we sit down. He checks in with us regularly, keeps a full beer in our hands and is super friendly!!! Thanks Zac - you're the best:).

NW's most happenin' hangout. The Gypsy is great! A happening place to meet, start out the night or make it a destination. The food is fantastic and the drinks ROCK! Great atmosphere, good service, I can't think of a better place to hang out. There's always something happening and it's always fun.

Parking. They have good Martini's and you can actually find a place to park.

Fun & Cool. Great food and Stiff drinks. I am a frequent at the Gypsy! Portions are hefty! The wings are excellent, smothered in hot and spicy sauce, and NOT breaded! I suggest the oyster shooters, mozzarella sticks, calamari, BLTA sandwich, Dagwood Sandwich, Country Fried Steak, or Spicy Buffalo Chicken Sandwich. Everything is good and I've not ever received a small portion! Karaoke Tuesday nights! The Gypsy has reasonably priced and STIFF drinks! I reommend that you try it out! It has a cool "gypsy-esque" ambiance, with big wavy mirrors, cool murals of "shapes" on the walls, awesome steel and colored lighting with a huge bar! Sunday brunch is a great deal! Try their Mimosas and Bloody Mary's!

GROOVY!!!. This place is wonderful, straight down to the seating, the staff, not to mention the drinks. Very hip place to hang out in NW. Would recommend to anyone.

Hands down a great bar. I dig the Gypsy. Must admit, I've never gone for dinner but have eaten the food which is quite a bit better than mere pub food.

I just find the bar side to be perfect- dark, candlelit, friendly staff, always an entertaining crowd and great happy hour.

Just went a few weeks ago with the girlfriend for the first time and she loved it too. Just very casual, unpretentious (unlike Oba and the like) and always a good time.

There is usually someone making an ass out of themselves or getting tossed out- bonus for entertainment factor.

Plus in a great part of town.
