I like movies.
Pretty good theater. The floors are clean so you don't make that sticky snappy sounds when you move around in your chair during the scary bits of movie. They also play a good mix of movies which is a huge plus.

Decent Theater, Nothing to Write Home About..
But I can write a review. The seats were comfy, the theaters were small with large screens. The sounds was deafening (not a good thing for me). And the snack bar was woefully understocked and understaffed. They didn't have the coffee I wanted, charged me before checking, and then took about 10 minutes to call a manager to get me a refund. Also no beer at the snack bar. Still not a bad place for a matinee of a new release.

Great Selection of Indy Movies.
This theater always has a great selection of indy movies and is in a great location. The theater itself is a little dated but the selection and location make up for it.

A good thater if....
It's an okay place to see movies if you don't mind seeing arthouse films in a contradictary dull mall-like setting with staff who need cinematic special ed. However the movies are generally good, the video and audio quality are excellent, and the downtown location makes it a convenient theater to go to. It's a tad expensive, though and since it's owned by Regal you have to sit through an excurciating amount of previews to get to your picture. I usually arrive there late, so I guess that compensates for the that.

Excellent movie choices + Helpful staff.
Fox Tower is a great place to see a moive because there is always an intelligent selction of movies playing and the staff is helpful and curteous. It's also easy to find downtow with lot of easy parking.
My movie tastes lean away from the big meglomania Hollywood fodder. The selection at Fox Tower bucks this trend with foreign films, documntaries and independent features. This theater is always my first choice. Oh, and one other thing--I love the small theater sizes!

who could want more.
I have never been to a theater with such friendly helpfull staff as well as a lively (un-invited?) mini-guitar player out front. The selection of smaller movies also adds to its appeal.

The whole enchilada....
As far as movie theaters go, this one is pretty good all around - comfortable seats, with arms that lift so you can snuggle, average ticket prices, although those in general are getting outrageous, and a good selection of movies for grown-ups - not so much of the garbage you find in other theaters.

Great movies played by a terrible owner.
The REgal Monopoly owns most theatres in Portland so expect high prices that keep getting higher. Fox Tower often sells out because of the smaller theatres. Typically they show the more "art-house" or foriegn films rather than big budget hollywood which is a nice change of pace. They theatre is still fairly new so if you get in, it is a pleasant experience.
