Editorial Review for M Bar – by Lesley Balla

In Short
Perfect for anyone trying to escape the typical bar scene this tiny, but the cozy space is lit only by candles and the glow of a streetlight. It's warm and welcoming, even downright romantic. Visitors can whisper to their honey or converse with the neighborhood regulars, but with a total capacity of 25, the space is so small that everyone will hear. The small drink list changes regularly, and bartenders can make recommendations.

Know Before You Go

No food is served on the premises, but this tiny bar is mere blocks from some of the finest restaurants in town.

I met a girl on first date at the M Bar - at her suggestion. First off - It's small! Or what I would call 'intimate'. The acoustics are very good so any conversation taking place is fair game to anyone else in the establishment. Outside a being a tiny cash only place - it's very cool. Warm, candle lit, with agreeable music playing. Non-smokers may be put off due to the size of the establishment and the lack of airflow (smoking is allowed inside). Luckily there are a couple outside tables to take advantage of. 4 star due to lack of ventilation - but I will be a return customer!

Pros: Cheap prices (happy hour gives 3$ glasses) friendly occupants

Cons: Very small, if you come with 5 or more people, you'll fill half the place up.

I've only been here late at night and I've been here alot, and each time it's a totally different crowd. It's really fun, different people everytime. Great place to go by yourself or with friends, fun, dark, tiny atmosphere. Reasonable prices, a definate "hole in the wall" and worth checking out. We go here all the time when we're in NW. Good date spot for an after dinner drink. Cash only!

Pros: Good date spot, good wines, always different crowd

Cons: Can get pretty crowded since it's so tiny
