A thimble-sized NW 21st hideout that doubles as a coffeehouse by day, this charmer pours from a succinct but well thought out wine and beer list, and the fact that you’re practically sitting on your neighbor’s lap makes for interesting random meetups.
Small wine bar with huge appeal. Grab a bottle of wine during HH for same price as 2 glasses. Intimate indoor seating, with a capacity around 15, limited outdoor seating available. Relaxed environment that is ideal for sipping, chilling and people watching along 21st.
Fantastic. Great ambiance and attention to detail, creating a intimate atmosphere. Great music mix but low enough for good conversation with friends. Come early for a warm up or late to wind down. A must if your coming to visit the area.
Intimate Wine Bar - Thumbs Up.
I met a girl on first date at the M Bar - at her suggestion. First off - It's small! Or what I would call 'intimate'. The acoustics are very good so any conversation taking place is fair game to anyone else in the establishment.
Outside a being a tiny cash only place - it's very cool. Warm, candle lit, with agreeable music playing.
Non-smokers may be put off due to the size of the establishment and the lack of airflow (smoking is allowed inside). Luckily there are a couple outside tables to take advantage of.
4 star due to lack of ventilation - but I will be a return customer!
Great late night spot. I've only been here late at night and I've been here alot, and each time it's a totally different crowd. It's really fun, different people everytime. Great place to go by yourself or with friends, fun, dark, tiny atmosphere. Reasonable prices, a definate "hole in the wall" and worth checking out. We go here all the time when we're in NW. Good date spot for an after dinner drink. Cash only!
One of the smallest bars in town, with a cozy atmosphere..
In Short
Perfect for anyone trying to escape the typical bar scene this tiny, but the cozy space is lit only by candles and the glow of a streetlight. It's warm and welcoming, even downright romantic. Visitors can whisper to their honey or converse with the neighborhood regulars, but with a total capacity of 25, the space is so small that everyone will hear. The small drink list changes regularly, and bartenders can make recommendations.
Simple and Cozy. My husband & I were visiting from SF and nearly missed this gem as we walked by. We intended to drop in for a quick drink and ended up staying all night! The service was warm - our bartender was a very sweet girl who seemed to know everyone as they came in. The candle lit environment was great and the music was hip. Everyone in the bar was friendly - we met some nice people that night. Loved it!
cash only. There's only a few select wines and beers on the menu, which are good, but there's not mch to choose from, and bring cash-$20 for a bottle, $6 for a glass. Every Monday they have Djs spinning which isn't noisy-you can actually hear yourself talk.
