Don't do it. I did, and boy was it regrettable. Run, don't walk, from the nachos. As well as probably most of the menu at this wannabe tacqueria. For crying out loud, who gives a rat's elbow if it's under five bucks--if it's that bad??
Great Cheap Food. I love this place, but usually go to the their other location on Jefferson neat Portland State. They give you a huge Burrito for the money and it actually tastes good and is fresh. They usually have coupons on Citysearch that make it even a better deal. Check them out!
Isn't there anything better?. I admit, I eat here every couple of weeks, but every time I do, I keep wondering why. This place is a solid mediocre. Don't confuse cheap prices and large portions with quality (McDonalds is good by that measure). The food here is somewhat uninspired and I wish I could take all of the positive reviewers to get a really good burrito, but that would apparently require going out of state and I just don't have that kind of money. I just don't get it - why can't a Portland restaurant make a really good burrito, not just a cheap one. Here's a tip - you can make a burrito both better and cheaper at home. This review applies to La Sirenita, Bonita, and Cha Cha Cha as well.
Otis gave'em a 6???. This is the best little whole in the wall Mexican joint you can ask for. The food is full flavored and done nicely. I have trouble believing they can make any money on the huge burritos they sell for only $3.50. It's not the best place to eat dinner unless you sit outside. The staff is fantastic, friendly, and in most cases, not hard to look at. You can have a huge, great meal and a beer for well under ten bucks. What more can you ask for!
Great little taco joint.
Really excellent, authentic taqueria on East Burnside.
The usual, funky, hole-in-the-wall decor, but the service is friendly, the food is great, and the value cant be beat. Where else can you stuff yourself silly for under $5?
SQUELCH YOUR HUNGER. I ate at the SW location near Portland State and enjoyed the entree I had. The service was good and it was a nice little restaurant to eat at, relax, and do some studying.
Get the Al Pastor. Try the wonderful Al Pastor (BBQ pork) taco, the fish taco was also very good. The Chili Relleno burrito is overwhelmed by all the beans and rice, so maybe go easy on those. If you're going to take out ask them to wrap each item separately since the tortillas will tend to stick. The hot sauce rocks! Come on, get rid of the hamburgers on the menu. This is one of the best value places in town.
Great value. With $3.50 burritos that must weigh 2 pounds, you can't find a better dining bargain. The chile relleno burrito is my favorite--best when each bite is topped with plenty of hot sauce. Don't miss the chips and salsa--real pico de gallo that tastes just like you get in Mexico. It doesn't come with meals, but it's about $1.50 and plenty for two. The atmosphere isn't much, but it's great for a quick bite or just get it to go.
Great value!. Ole Ole makes my favorite burrito and I love going here because of the great prices. My husband and I can split a dinner plate for $4-5 and both be completely full. Not much seating, getting takeout is a good idea.
Nachos that make you weep with joy..
If you don't weep with joy upon having a plate of Ole Ole's heaping nachos placed in front of you, I have no words for you, you soul-less heathen.
Nachos as an object of beauty and perfect taste. Perfection.
