In Short – Located on the top floor of the historic Telegram Building, the modern spa features soothing music and a barefoot staff speaking in hushed tones. Aequis practices the 5,000-year-old healing science of ayurveda, which originates from the ancient traditions of India. Services range from facials and massage to body treatments and wellness therapies. A massage package includes foot treatments and essential-oil head-to-toe massage and scalp treatment, followed by a luxurious shower.
One the best

I travel all over the world and have enjoyed great massages in many cities. The massage given by Jamaica was one of the best ever.
"I could go on at length, but I will just mention a few aspects. First would be mood and tone. You set that from the outset with your strong but comforting presence. I also found the body work to be practiced at a level I would have to call masterful or virtuosic. You managed intense deep pressurewhere it mattered and knew how to read my body. Finally, your comments at the end about ways I might limber up and work on flexibility were well received and much appreciated. "
I was extremely well treated in all respects and have difficulty understanding the negative reviews here. There was no sign of any of those issues - just a completely pleasurable experience from beginning to end.
- Pros: Excellent massage, great atmosphere, good service
- Cons: none
WORST CUSTOMER SEVICE EVER!!!!!!
by deborah111 at Citysearch
My husband bought me 3 package treatments consisting of facial, massage, body exfoliation and pedicure each package was to be 4 hours long and cost 200.00. scheduling appointments were extremely difficult and about 4 weeks out. on my spa day there was scheduling errors and only the facial and massage was preformed. when I asked about the other services we had pre paid for I was told sorry I would have to re schedule but no time for the next month but a manager would give me a call. two days latter no call so I called the manager who was so rude and argued with me regarding what was in my package!. lucky for me my husband had printed out the package when he purchased it. I was so angry after talking to the staff I decided I would wait and cool off and call back later 3 months later I called and asked to have the gift certificates mailed to me again the phone staff was so rude. She actually tried to rip me off and only give me the services that were miss scheduled the first time (pedicure and exfoliaton) and not give me the other whole package which was purchased.
We purcharsed a 600.00 package 3 full day spa treatments once this company has money in hand they do not want to deliver on the services
I would advise anyone not to go to this establishment and certainly not to buy gift certificates because they make it impossible to use them.
- Pros: Nice atmosphere
- Cons: customer service and managment
A true retreat

I feel healed after my hour massage at Aequis. From beginning to end, it was a deeply gratifying experience that relaxed my every nerve. As my mind wandered over work and what people were thinking, the staff at Aequis brought me back to earth allowing me to truely enjoy myself in the moment. It all started with a sensory journey where I blurted, "I like lavender." The therapists informed me, "Close your eyes and what you like might surprise you." Indeed, lavendar smelled like rotten oranges to me as my nose chose what I needed that day. My foot soak and calf and foot rub had me in a trance and ready to receive a body massage. I was comfortable and warm as a kink in my neck disintegrated to the nothing from which it came. My therapist used her abilitys to respond to my bodys needs and some real healing was accomplised. I'm excited for my facial!
- Pros: Response ability
