Oh Please.
Aequis Spa Retreat
It is with deep sorrow that I share with my friends that Aequis Spa performed it's last services, yesterday, July 7, 2012. It is also with great excitement that I share a little bit about the future for the guests of Aequis Spa - people who have been my family for over a decade.
The last 13 years have been an amazing and deeply cherished ride. We've performed over 186,000 unique spa services, employed over 700 full-time staff and over 480 part-time staff.
We have been uniquely able to donate over $280,000 in free services to area schools, charities and individuals in need.
We have been blessed in three separate locations; been a spa of 1,556 sq ft and a spa of over 9,000 sq ft. We've had shipped furniture and artifacts from around the world to create the unique sacred spaces of Aequis.
We've hosted the mourning of the loss of children and spouses, shared 911 with our community - offering healing to those in need, we've celebrated the birth of many new beings and hosted over 2 dozen wedding proposals. We've comforted women after abuse and counseled teens on skin care and self appreciation and love. It has been a massive blessing to be part of all of this.
We shared the devastation of 2008-2009 with our community. Like many businesses, we "right sized" when closing our doors was not an option. We've been blessed with incredible staff - that during turbulent times went weeks, sometimes a month or more without pay in order for us to keep our doors open. During all of this, we've held that we all love Aequis and that we all love our community.
Now, it is time to pass the torch. Standing in full integrity and knowing that we are no longer offering the stellar service and services that we once did, we are closing. This is the closing of one door, but the opening of another! Aequis Spa has made arrangements for every gift certificate and GroupOn to be honored by an amazing woman who was trained in the way of Aequis over a decade ago. This woman has had her own successful business for over 6 years, spent the last two years in the middle east and is bringing all her experience, love and knowledge home and opening just after September. We are working side-by-side to make this transition easy and wonderful for all. If we do not have your email address and you would like to be kept "in the loop" or if you have gift certificates or GroupOn coupons, please be sure to email us at customerservice@aequisspa.com
Thank you all so very much!
Megan
I received a gift certificate at.
This is a follow up to my initial review. Please read that and realize I have filed a BBB complaint asking for a refund. I was told they do not give refunds, but read the email I received from the owner and you will see that is not true. My continued complaint is regarding their lack of customer service. After my complaint was filed, and I posted reviews, the owner emailed me a reply to my email to them. I will post it here. This was two weeks ago, and note she states she will contact me "hopefully" at the end of the day... that was May 30, this is June 13 and I have not heard from them again. Customer service is the issue and this email, and the time elapsed since she was to get back to me, is proof of their lack of it. Spend your money in a place that cares for their customers!
Good morning Olivia,
Thank you for your emails. You have provided me with great information and I am researching the situation on our end.
First, we have issued refunds in the past and I am committed to getting you not only the outcome you desire, but going above and beyond what you could expect.
I am not doing this because of the leverage of reviews - but because it is the right thing to do.
Not only do I want to find out what happened, but I want to find out by whom. All of our calls are documented and have been for 12 years. This is helpful to find the details we need to figure out how we let people down, and how to not do it again.
There are reasons you may have the experience you had - but not excuses. I will continue to research and hopefully to be able to reach out to you before the end of the day and discuss the absolute best remedy.
With the Utmost Respect,
Megan Klein
Again, this was send May 30, it is long past the end of that day! Also, my daughter tweeted this out to friends, who all replied this is a bad place and they also had issues. I am with John Cusack and Caric, I wonder if the glowing reviews were written by an insider!
Had a great time! this was a place that I've really enjoyed will definitely recommend to friends!!
I have had many experiences at Aequis over the years and I love them :) Every time it has been a wonderful, relaxing, experience. With staff that gives fantastic, sincere and knowledgeable service. I have experienced a slightly harder time getting in since the groupons have run, but it is the same for all smaller businesses that do those coupon things. I think Aequis still has it and is one of the best spas I have ever been to :)
I think the good reviews may be written by an inside source. It isn't a good place, don't waste your time or money.
I left a message every day for the last four days on the Aequis voicemail to see about making an appointment. Today still no return phone call. So I called them again and the girl just told me "We are really busy this time of year" I informed her I am a business owner myself and if my staff didn't return phone calls and told me because they are busy... I wouldn't have a business! The gal asked when I could come in and I told her I was very flexible. She told me they are completely booked up for the rest of the year and into January. Her customer services was terrible... enough where I questioned why I would even want to go there anyway. I was wanting to use a gift certificate my family purchased me. If your looking for a good place... RUMI SIMONE in Lake Oswego. Customer Service, You feel Pampered and don't feel like a low life when you call to make an appointment. Aequis has forgotten what a spa is suppose to be like. I'd hire people too to write good reviews on citysearch cause they sure aren't 4 stars!
Cannot get appointment until mid-late Dec?!?!!?.
I just tried to make an appointment for the groupon i got for couples massage. I cannot get appointment til Dec?!?!?
I used to love this place at their old location, but am not impressed that i have to wait til Dec because they offer groupon discount which they cannot support in timely manner.
Over-priced, under-staffed. This has been an extremely difficult place to make an appointment with. They don't seem to have a receptionist and phone messages aren't always returned in a timely manner. I have a gift certificate and as soon as it is used up, I will never return. The pedicure polish hasn't lasted as long as it has at other places and they seem to be over-priced. One manicurist just up and quit do to lack of payment and now it's hard to get an appointment for two of us at the same time. Instead of two of us having a manicure at the same time, we have to go one after the other.
seriously overpriced. I will not be returning to this spa because of the service I received there last week. The massage was sub par, the staff did not seem genuine, and I did not get the full time that I paid for. I think it's time to try other spas in the area.
