SAD!!.
When I first went to Aequis 7 years ago in 2004 at their original location I was blown away. The staff were amazingly sweet, calm, the ambiance was beyong soothing and my massage was the best by far and left me feeling great for over a week (a rare occurance in my case).
I work in a customer service position where I come into contact with 100-200 people every day, so I know first hand that not everyone is going to be happy and there are always people who will despise the service they get no matter what. . . BUT
I've been to Aequis 2 times in the last couple of years and my massage ended 15 minutes early each time. A male friend of mine wanted to try it last Summer and was not pleased at all and while the space was very nice and set up to seem "luxurius", the massage was not worth the expensive price at all, and I agree. A friend of mine used to work as a front desk staff there and after she quit, complained to me that just like the other posts state, she was never paid on time and was given excuses for missing wages. She had to file complaints with BOLI.
I'm really disappointed, but alas! My new favorite is Dragon Tree Spa on NW Thurman!! I have been there 3 times now and love it!!
Luxury, top customer service, serene. I started with Aequis when located in its original location. I was in complete awe over the ambiance, serenity, and peace. Then it moved to a bigger, less personal location, still awesome massage, but the special and unique ambiance was lost. NOW, back to business in the Pearl! You walk in and as a mom, this place takes your breath away! Peace, quiet, Serene, more then affordable, especially for the quality of personal attention and expertise. As a runner, Katlyn really knew how/what to stretch and massage for swift relaxation and recovery. KUDOS to Aequis for bringing back the BEST in the business. Cheers.
NO WAY!!!!.
I am not sure if it was a dream or not still four days later. I have been to Aeqis once before in 'o6 and never forgot it. I finally found time again and scheduled a facial and a massage for the same day.
So when i arrived it was just like i remembered it just a little smaller but same AMAZING ZEN feeling that came over me instantly. I was approached immediately with this awesome dry erase intake form and offered hot tea. The staff was amazing right away, true customer service for sure. I was taken into the back gallery and like before i felt as if i was beginning a journey.
Foot soak and rub warm robe then a facial with Kaitlyn that put me into my body, WOW! She used some Hungarian skin care that was from a small farm in Hungary i guess. How amazing and client focused can they get there haha.
Anyways my massage with Kaila sent me into pure self release and the hot oil running up and down almost every square inch of me was to die for.
THANK YOU FOR RESETTING MY LIFE YOU GUYS, REALLY REALLY THANKFUL.
staci p :)
What Happened?.
I have been to this place 6 times over the years; every time magical.
Not sure what happened, but the writing is on the wall.....Groupon Coupons= trouble.
I bought several coupons and cannot even get in to use them. I called and was told that the secretary was out and that they would call me back. I never received a phone call, I have called back several times to no avail (no answer at all, or voice mail) and my email has produced no reply at all.
Stay away!!! Not sure the employees can handle all the coupons.
Has Auquispa's time come to be sent adrift into the aqua?
When you buy a groupon coupon you have to know that it will take time to book an appointment that is why you get a great deal. And you are only allowed to buy one for yourself and use the others as gifts. You are obviously a bargain shopper so show some patience.
Not So Bad. I am an employee and would just like to say that I do get paid, and have never not gotten paid and have worked there for quite some time now. It is a great place to work, with a great staff.
More proof. egov.sos.state.or.us/br/pkg_web_name_srch_inq.login........ will provide further proof of violation. This is reportable and should be stopped. Does anyone know where to report? It seems that Ms Klein has taken herself off as listed owner, and now her ex husband, David Klein of California claims to be part owner. It's on his Facebook page. There is also a page called AEQUIS SPA REALLY SHOULD PAY THEIR EMPLOYEES on Facebook. I personally will never do business there again.
Gone Legitimate - Got Licensed.
I guess the pressure to get legit or die was too much. The place is finally licensed. It took lots of calls to the State! I did find that the BBB has given the place an F rating and there are HUGE outstanding BOLI claims and liens for payroll violations. A simple credit check will prove them out.
If one believes in karma, (interesting that the business promotes spiritual well-being), then they have a big kick in the butt coming (or at least their next life as a dung beetle). I, for one, will never darken their door again. SK
Krista put the Kibosh on my back...Wow it felt good!.
I came in during a $110 day and got such a great massage. Krista gave me a foot massage and right away, I started joking around with her and felt very comfortable and relaxed. She's awesome and she let me be myself. It was my first massage so I didn't know that traditionally you get butt naked under the bath robe. Funny. Real funny.
The massage got started and an hour and a half later I was entranced by the tribal music and the deep tissue massage I received. She was formerly an all-state volleyball player in high school and her bows rolled through my kinks and knots in my back that I get from clicking a mouse and watching a computer screen all day. Goodness guys, get Krista if you want a good massage. Goodness I said.
WHAT A JOKE!. Be specific about your service and what you are paying for. Keep an eye on the clock you may not receive to full amount of time you paid for. Forget about talking to the owner Megan Klein she already has your money and will not call you back if you have issued a complaint. Try the YMCA the service is probably better!
Aequis isn't what it used to be..
I used to go to Aequis but it doesn't look so good these days. I searched for Aequis on BBB website and their rating is a F. Look for yourself..
Ouch.
