Large, pretty salon replete with services and they use high quality products. Staff is very nice and, though it's not cheap, I do like going here for haircuts. Waxing was eh, but I love trying all their product samples while I'm waiting.

OK if you want a cheap massage that will be a hit or miss. When it's a miss, you feel like you've been ripped-off. I think they look for people right out of school. So many better choices around town.

Relaxing and rejuvenating. I was given a gift certificate for a facial at Dosha. The Fifth Ave location was most convenient but when I read reviews online I was a bit skeptical. Decided to give it a try. Natalie gave me the facial. She did a wonderful job! I couldn't believe the hour was over. It was very relaxing and an all around wonderful experience. Can't wait to schedule my next facial!

Awful experience! One star only because CS doesnt allow zero. Don't know if this is the B team or what, but I will never step foot in another Dosha again. Went in for a trial for my wedding, supremely disappointed. No comfy place to wait, was seated in a hair chair, SUPER loud stylists talking about disturbing personal issues, walked out with prom hair. Stylist kept saying, "Oh dont worry, it won't look like this for your wedding..." But why does it look like this NOW then??? I left before my make-up trial as they didnt have any sanitized brushes for use. Really awful, awkward experience. Only gave one star because City Search won't let me give it zero.

Horrible Wedding Experience. My wedding planner recommended Dosha for my makeup on my wedding day, she thought it would be a safer bet than a makeup counter. My bridesmaids came with me 3 days before the wedding to do a trial run. My makeup looked so horrible that I cried! The manager came over and said that she would be there on my wedding day to make sure everything was perfect. On my wedding day we returned to Dosha and no one else was there except the makeup artist and cashier! I ended up with only eyeshadow and I did the rest of the makeup myself and they still charged me over $100 for the practice and day of. Dosha also promised that my entire wedding party and family would get makeovers for a wedding show that they were going to feature us in. We never heard back from them! I would never recommend Dosha and will not be returning.

horrible. i don't even know where to begin:

1. the place is so cramped, you literally have to wait in the hallway, dripping wet after your steam, b/c there is only 1 shower. this is the best feature of the place.

2. the massage therapist was the ABSOLUTE WORST i have ever experienced. i asked for deep tissue and got an oil rub with NO pressure that would have tickled if i weren't so angry.

3. supposed to get 90 minutes; got 50.

4. customer service from everybody on the staff is ridiculously unprofessional.

5. advice: always check your bill!! so slimy of them!!

i have never been so tense AFTER a massage before!!

Dosha--you definitely won't find exceptional bodywork services offered here!. This is the true story of my one and only experience with Dosha:

I responded to an ad I saw on Craiglist that was looking for licensed massage therapists in the Portland area. A rep at Dosha contacted me the next day and set up an interview appointment with me for the following day. I asked a few harmless question during this phone call about Dosha; just general questions about the job and about Dosha. I noticed a little resistance from Margaret's voice and a definite 'holier than thou' attitude on the phone when she replied with short and abrupt answers to my queries. I could tell instantly, that this was one of those places where they pay the massage therapist around $9 or $10 per every 1 hour massage performed instead of the usual $30 to $40 per 1 hour massage standard rate. I decided to schedule the interview anyways, because I was going to be in the local area dropping off my resume at other businesses. I showed up for the appointment as scheduled and as soon as I walked in the door I got a bad vibe about the place. For starters, the place is adjoined to a nice classy hotel in the downtown area of Portland and I was escorted immediately in the lobby area as soon as I walked in. Apparently, the entire interview was to take place in the hotel lobby waiting area... I was told to wait a few minutes as I filled out an application. An application I thought. What kind of place is this? I just handed them my resume which had all my info on it and they still wanted me to fill out one of those things... Strange. Ok, at this point I'm thinking.... maybe they pay their massage therapists right at the minimum wage cutoff and offer no medical benefits. After waiting about 5 minutes, someone came out and kindly informed me that Courtney, my interviewer, was on the phone and didn't have the time to interview me. So I was told to come back at a later time. That was irritating to say the least and highly unprofessional. That's my experience with Dosha

I take that back. When this place was owned by Aveda it was in fact a diamond in the rough but since Dosha took ownership it is just like all their other places. I thought "well hopefully they still have some or all of the same staff so at least the treatments will be good. Not the case. It has changed and is no longer a serene getaway but rather just another place run by corporate Dosha. Too bad, it was one of my favorites.

Editorial Review by Kristin Kaye. A simple spa perfectly situated for a downtown for a quick massage or aesthetic and body treatments.

worth a try. It's funny whenever I tell people about this place they say they didn't know it even existed. Maybe I should keep it my little secret! It is Aveda so with that comes the lovely smells. However you don't know what to expect with treatements. This place is wonderful. It is small, personable, and quiet. I have said it before and will say it again, the facial is not exactly result oriented but that's Aveda for you. However it doesn't mean they don't feel wonderful. It's a diamond in the rough, this place.
