Tips for The Joinery

Modern bed and tables. We have been looking for a modern bed and side tables to suit a smallish condo bedroom. Our objectives: the headboard must be lower than the window, the appearance must be modern but still warm, the tables must hold lots of books and look tidy, made of walnut, and of real quality construction and finish. We were given a tour of the shop before buying and their sustainable practices are exceptional. We love our new modern bed and tables- their construction is a giant step up and they are strikingly more beautiful than the Pottery Barn set that we graduated from. Well done Joinery!

Experience exceeded our expectations. We recentily completed a total remodel and re-furnish at a house in Sunriver which, while living fulltime in California, is more stressful and frustrating than we had expected. We discovered The Joinery through one of our many internet searches looking for various building materials and furnishings. Out of maybe 2 to 3 dozen fairly major purchases over the internet and delivered sight unseen to a remote location - this was by far our best and most satisfying experience. I don't want to sound like a shill but they were so friendly and easy to communicate with and delivered so faithfully on their committments that I would not hesitate to go through it all again, even for our home as far away as San Diego. It was a far better experience than many we've had with local Furniture stores.

So, about the product. We bought a cherry king bedroom set with maple in-lays entirely off the pictures on-line and we LOVE IT! The pictures hint at the quality of materials and workmanship but the actual product far surpassed our expectations. We couldn't be happier and, as I wrote above, we would do it again (and still May).

If I were in Portland or the surrounding area, I would always include The Joinery on my short list when shopping for furnishings.

The perfect table. We looked all over the city and on the internet for the right dining table for our condo- it had to be small enough to play cards on, needed to extend for up to 8 guests, be walnut, had to work in a modern interior but in a style that would last through the latest fads. We wanted quality construction, sustainable solid wood, and natural finish. Oh, and the right price too. In other words, it had to be perfect.

Much to our delight we found it locally at the Joinery. They showed us a similar table and said they could make exactly the size we wanted in a number of different wood choices in less than 8 weeks. The price was lower than most of the stores and websites we'd visited and a positive bargain for solid wood construction.

We love our table! It turned out beautifully and works for all the purposes we hoped it would. We like it so much that we returned to buy modern dining chairs- also after a fruitless search. I highly recommend the Joinery- they are pros in every sense of the word.

Amazing quality, fantastic design. I never knew that a place like The Joinery could actually exist in the real world, but Portland is one very lucky city to have such an incredible resource for fantastic furniture. I bought my bedroom set from them last year and even though it cost more than some other stores I couldn't be happier. I am sensitive to chemicals so it was very important that I have solid wood furniture in my bedroom (no off gassing.) The beauty of the real wood is also spectacular. Their showroom is also very nice, with rugs and all kinds of great accessories (they even have great wooden toys!)

The Joinery is what Portland is all about-quality, design, and sustainability.

Overpriced furniture. My interior designer suggested this showroom to find finely crafted unique furniture, but all we found was plainly the same thing everybody is selling, just with a bigger price tag; very disappointing.

The Joinery Portland, OR - not what is used to be. The Joinery used to be top notch without a doubt but unfortunately due to poor economic times it has gone downhill. The experienced craftsmen that worked for the company for years have been replaced with new inexperienced employees I presume in order to pay lower wages.

Most beautiful furniture in the NW!!. Love wood??? Me too!!!

The Joinery on Woodstock is the place to go if you want to see/touch/smell amazing wood craftsmanship. All the pieces are made on-site by highly skilled craftsmen, and the sales staff is knowledgeable and friendly. The showroom is stunning! Such beautiful accessories like mirrors and lamps and even Christmas ornaments. You can peek into the shop through vignettes set up throughout the showroom and actually see the production. They are even sustainable!!! They use 100% wind energy to power the shop and showroom, and they use responsibly harvested hardwoods from local sources. If you have any appreciation for wood, do yourself a favor and check out The Joinery!!
