Editorial Review for Kruger's Farm Market – by Citysearch Editors
In Short
Most people flock here for the seasonal produce, harvested each morning and sold in on-site markets. Farmers turn out conventionally and organically grown gems like heirloom tomatoes, summer berries and jumbo cucumbers, famously made in to Kruger's pickles. In the fall, the crops are turned in to edible gifts; the corn fields are converted to a maze for children and families to rustle through; and the pumpkin patch is a must-see pre-Halloween attraction.

I would not recommend Krugers to anyone. The owner of this place was completely rude to me when I talked to him about his poor quality food and sanitation. The strawberries were moldy on the shelf and place was dirty. I asked him if they had more fresh produce in the cooler or in the back. He looked at me like I was crazy and said that if I didn't like it go somewhere else. The food that they sell sometimes LOOKS good but it tastes like it is purchased from out of state (CA, Mexico, Brazi, etc...) I would save the time by just going to a grochery store. I have been going to farmers markets on Sauvie Island for 10 years now with my family and I will continue to go to other farms on the island. I found out from an employee there that Krugers is reletively new. It is leased from the old owners and they should take it back from him. This farm looks like someone is trying too hard to make money at the added expense of consumers. It fails miserably in providing quality produce, family fun, fair prices, and service. Their Corn maze is also terrible with no scary characters and a poor design.
Pros: none
Cons: service, selection, lack of ingenuity

I'm not sure where the other reviewer was, but it wasn't at Kruger's Farm. I know they have a Corn Maze, but it's never crowded. There's another big corn maze on Sauvie Island, so maybe that's where they were. Anyway, what I love about Kruger's is that they've avoided the carnival atmosphere you'll find at other farms (no hoppity houses or hokey country schlock) and have focused on farming and the farm experience. I love to go out there and u-pick berries and just spend the day at this beautiful farm. My kids love the to feed the chickens and see just where there food comes from. In short, it's wonderful!
