What People Are Saying About Mio Sushi

In Short – Located in a bland new building in SE Portland, this eatery is less charming than its parent restaurant in an old Victorian house off Northwest 23rd. Tables are tightly crammed into a mirror-filled room that isalways packed. However, the ultra-fresh sushi is still complemented by creative small plates and Japanese entrees. Rolls include the Dragon roll with spicy tuna, freshwater eel and avocado, and the abundant Sonny #2--a warm rice ball with salmon, spicy tuna and spicy mayo.

Best Sushi in Town
by jimmy4
I love this place. The sushi is great and affordable. Please try the maguro (tuna), it's the freshest in town. I've tried other places and can't compare. My wife had udon and it was authentic. Try it, you'll love it. If you love sushi, then you'll love Mio Sushi.
- Pros: Extremely fresh with awesome taste.
- Cons: very busy.
Excellent and consistent lunch spot
by HawthorneFamily
My office orders sushi from Mio about once a week. Our order is ALWAYS correct, the sushi is fresh, delicious and the rolls are prepared consistently every time. Occasionally, they have added new, free items for us to try. We appreciate that Mio's sushi is seafood-focused, they don't add alot of weird mayo-based sauces to compensate for poorly packed rolls. Mio's sashimi is thick and proportional to the rice underneath, again they highlight the fish instead of overpowering it. Their packed restaurant only shows that people appreciate consistently good food and will return again and again to enjoy it.
- Pros: great food
- Cons: parking is difficult on Hawthorne Blvd and the surrounding neighborhood streets.
