Such an enjoyable time!. Met a couple of girlfriends here for brunch and coffee, the fresh pastries were delicious. We ended up spending hours shopping the Antique mall, and the huge garden area was amazing. The owner was very friendly, and spent time helping us find items we were looking for. The manager was also very pleasant and very knowledgeable in regards to a few antique pieces that we were interested in. It was as if we had added two more girlfriends to our day of shopping, and had a very enjoyable afternoon at Monticello. Thank you very much!
customer service. I have been here many times and while I love to look at the things here, sometimes it can be trying. The girls that work here are fabulous, the owner/manager is one of the most unfriendly people that I have ever met. If she waits on you she acts like she is doing you a favor, if you pass her in the aisle she gives you a stone look and if you smile or say hello she gives you a pinched smile. If you can manage to avoid her you might have a nice time here, if not well..try to go somewhere that you will be welcomed
Great Selection of Collectible Home Furnishings!. When near the Montavilla District be sure to stop in and shop at Monticello. You will find an array of very interesting items, including silver, glasware, jewelry, furniture and just about anything collectible. The friendly staff is there to assist you when you need it. Want a break from shopping? Relax at the Mont's cafe located inside the shopping marketplace and get a bite to eat.
Nowhere else I know has a life-sized metal cow for sale!. I love this place. I came one day on a whim thinking I'd be in an out in a half hour; actually, I was there browsing for two hours. Some dealers have a better selection than others, but it seems like there's stuff from every era. There's a HUGE selection of jewelry and lots of garden stuff. They could probably do with more furniture. Overall, the store was well-organized and fun to rummage around in!
More like a collection of small thrift shops. than an antique mall. Neither my wife nor I found any bargains, but for the most part, items are priced at fair retail. The cafe is a nice touch and prices are reasonable.
Hold Me Back. This is above and beyond MANY local antique malls. Even the big name "Stars" cannot hold a candle to this place! I never leave without SOMETHING and it's often the place that offers the FAVORITES in my collections.
Neat-o Store!. Great place to find goodies and have lunch or coffee as well. Great prices, neat odds and ends and inventory is changing often so you do not know what you are going to find from one week to another. Good music while you're looking!
Editorial Review by Citysearch Editors. Antique store/marketplace since 2000 houses over 100 dealer spaces, a book area, deli and coffee bar; consignments and appraisals offered.
Best of the Best. During my 20 years of buying, selling, and collecting antiques, I have yet to find a mall environment that can compare to Monticello. This place is huge, yet it is a warm and comfortable environment. Everyone I have met at Monticello has been friendly and helpful. If they can't answer your question, they will find someone who can. While there, don't forget to check out the "savage garden" area.
The Newest in Old. This is the BEST antique mall in town, by far. I love shopping there!!! The layout is great--three straight rows of booths--and the staff is well informed and helpful. It has got to be the most well-organized antique mall I've even seen. Also, there's plenty of parking, free popcorn and a cafe with great coffee and wonderful food. The inventory is varied; you can find anything from primitives to '50s to fine furniture to art and books. As they say, "There's something there for everyone."
