6 year customer and I've moved to the Northeast. No one has been able to replicate the cut Kim gives my hair. Just visited family in Portland and of course got my hair cut. In a year and a half I haven't found anyone who understands my style and hair the way Kim does. When living in Portland people commented on how great my hair looked no less than 3 times a week. She created a style for me that is perfect.
Best Salon experience in Portland!. I have going to Kalista/now Hey Beautiful for the past 12 years and I have always had the BEST haircuts/color!!! My kids love going to get there hair done too, and nails...nice, comfortable atmosphere, good quality products available, friendly and knowledgeable staff. Always happy with results and will continue to recommend friends/family/strangers to go here because it's G R E A T !!!
Kim has been my hairdresser for 2 years now and she has always been very sweet to me and from what i see her staff respects her, I read these reviews on here and I am embarrassed for these people that could think to say things about anyone the way this salon seems to be attacked. I would just stay just as you are and keep your head up. Your a great and talented hairdresser and your staff seem to adore you. Cybor bulling is becoming more and more evident especially in your case. I would recommend your salon and spa to all my friends and anyone on this site that comes to visit. There is much talent here in this salon and I would not be writing this review if I wasn't touched by Kim personally and her overall energy.
I would give 0 stars if it were. Same owner, different name, same bad service
I have been to the salon when it was Kalista, and I just recently went into the salon now called Hey Beautiful. Both times I went in there the owner made my hair just as I wanted it, the difference I noticed was the rest of the staff. It was all new faces and everyone was happy and smiling. The front desk was very attentive to me and I really enjoyed my experience. Before, the staff was very stand offish and I actually heard two former employees in the bathroom talking crap about other employees and the owner. Clearly not professional! So I am guessing from everyone that has had negative experiences had to have dealt with the old catty staff, considering most of the negative reviews seem to be personal. I defiantly did not feel as welcome as I did with my last visit. I think Hey Beautiful salon is awesome and I would not let any of the previous comments change your mind about visiting.
Don't let them fool you, this is still Kalista Salon and Spa, my advice ....stay away! Believe the reviews, enough said!
My tip? Change nothing! I read every single review prior to my appointment. As an educator though, I know that "bad reviews" are often very personal and complex. So, going into my appointment I knew that some people have had bad experiences but let's be frank, most have great ones or she wouldn't be in business. I have not been to a salon in over 20 years, because I suffer from TTM. I finally made the leap, consulted with Kim, and she took me on as a client. I was treated with respect, privacy, and honesty. She is a powerful woman who is confident. I appreciate this sort of personality and handed myself over to her. My hair looks amazing and I will definitely continue having my hair done here. She was realistic too. Thank you, sincerely.
Went in for a Groupon special, it was the "indulge me" facial. It was great, I really thought it was fantastic. They use only dermalogica skincare products which are top of the line stuff. I purchased the intense moisture balance moisturizer that they used during the facial and a new skin primer that Dermalogica just created. It feels silky smooth on my skin and hides all the fine lines prior to applying makeup. The best thing about this new product they introducted me to is that it has SPF 30, which is the only way I will be in direct sun anymore. The lumiere treatment that accompanied my facial was nice and I left the spa with glowing skin! Good experience, I will go back.
I tried out the LED sauna with a lymphatic drainage massage. It was recommended by the knowledgable staff to help with detoxification for my kidneys, since I recently experienced an illness. The massage therapist, Billy, made me feel so much better! I also bought a 14-time pass for foot detox to continue the detoxifying. It was fun and relaxing during both treatments, next time, I'll try the endermology treatment, but I loved the sauna, it has LED light, so it is agressive treatment for detox...not only do you have the dry heat, but the intense, infrared light. It worked for me and only took a little over an hour for both a 30 minute massage and 30 minute sauna!
I went to Kalista to check out their Endermology service. I researched a lot about lipo massage and when I saw they offered a discounted trial session, I jumped at the chance to try it. The technician was gracious and accomodating to my needs and focused my treatment on just two specific regions (I had more to do) but the session lasts just half an hour and they said they could only work on 2-3 specific regions to reach maximum benefits. I felt the treatment was relaxing and noticed that my pants were looser around my waistline after my initial visit. I went back and purchased a package with 20 sessions. I am excited to see the before and after photos...two more months and I hope to have my body back to pre-baby stage!
