yum. The food is good and tastes like it's homemade. The only problem is the price.

Yum but $$$. Love the Caprece Sandwich (tomato, mozzerella, basal) The price is a bit high, but sometimes worth it ;)

Pricey Sandwiches and Water. Stopped by Flying Elephants for a quick lunch on a weekend. I thought it was odd that the prices weren't shown on any of the foods, but I didn't think too much of it at first. How much can a turkey sandwich and bottled water cost right? Well when I went to pay at the cashier and the total cost came out to over $8, I felt very cheated. I wouldn't have minded the cost had the turkey sandwich tasted on par with something that costs over $5, but it was small and pretty average. It's something I could have made at home with Wonder bread, lettuce, mayo, tomatoes, and turkey slices. That's it. That's all that was in the sandwich. Needless to say, I will never be going back to Flying Elephants. If you're looking for a good sandwich at a reasonable price, go to Grand Central or Paradise Cafe and Bakery.

Great Takeout Lunches.... Elephant's is great quality food for the masses. While it may be a few more bucks than grabbing lunch at a sidewalk stand, it is definitely worth the treat occasionally. Their Tomato Orange soup is to die for, and goes really well with a Grilled Cheese sandwich on a rainy day (or any day, for that matter). If you're working late, stop by after 6:00PM for half-priced sandwiches to go, which is a good way to grab a bite to eat on your way home. The coffee is good, the salads are good, and the soups are good too. It is disappointing that they do not serve the fresh pizza's here that the main Elephants on 22nd does.
