Couldn't ask for better
by nmbryan
I tend to have a few issues that make it necessary for me to frequent alot of doctor's offices. Going to the dermatologist with Dr. Baker and her staff has been nothing but enjoyable. Every member of the team i've worked with is friendly and willing to help however they can. Dr. Baker keeps very thorough notes and pictures detailing each visit that outline how the patient was treated. Her charts and dictations are better than any other doctor i've seen. She takes her time examining her patients and provides treatments that work in a way that i am very satisfied with. I had a mole removed on my back and was impressed that she took the time to not only explain her technique to her nurse practicioner (amy), but that her other nurse was there to hold my hand during the painful parts. I'm moving this month and particularly sad that I won't be able to benefit from her care any longer. I highly recommend this office!
- Pros: Parking, short wait, thoroughness of exam, personnel
a bad morning at the office.

Before even visiting this doctor's office I had inquired on the phone as to what procedures they use for broken facial capillaries and was assured that they do, and could do, sclerotherapy and/or electric pulse cauterization. I had already had a series of laser treatments elsewhere and could see no beneficial results. I was also told that the consultation fee could be applied to whatever procedure I had done.
Upon examination by Dr. Landers (Dr. Baker's colleague) I was told that these procedures were not recommended for my condition, and given a referral to yet another doctor with a laser they don't have at that office. When I told her I had specifically come in for either of the aforementioned procedures since I had friends who had had amazing results from them, she informed me that she could try a test area, but it might leave small scars, and not prove beneficial.
Already being in this for $250. with nothing to show, I asked her to please try. At this point the technician made a face, rolled her eyes and went to get the numbing cream. When I mentioned to doctor that I assumed it would be uncomfortable, she gave a self-satisfied smile and agreed. She unsheathed a long sinister looking needle and it was evident she wasn't waiting for the numbing cream. I told her to forget it.
The overall attitude of this place was one of impatient condescension, and that I, the patient, who dared to show up with make-up on, which required providing soap/towel, was a pest. Hello? I have an unsightly skin condition, which is why I'm here?
In the end I paid the $250. fee for: 15 min. with doctor, 2 acne prescriptions (not even the reason I was there), and a whole lot of attitude.
- Pros: waiting room timeliness, parking
- Cons: staff attitude
Unprofessional

I went in for an interview (not with dr baker herself i hear SHE is great) and have never been treated so poorly in my life. Long story short her two staff members that were there were so unprofessional "warning" me that the staff can be catty, that dr. baker herself is hard to deal with, and warning me that their clientelle is also difficult. the dr needs to get some new people as her representation.
