what a hoot!. This place isn't a meat market - in fact everyone's dressed in 80s getup and can you imagine a less flattering scene? :) It was seriously a fantastic night out for dancing and people watching, and although we didn't drink much while we were there (the lines were long and we were having too much fun out on the floor) what we had was all good McMenamins-style. Crowd was friendly and fun, no squabbling or jostling and lots of people doing their own thing. Great mix of older folks and early 20s, with some of us 30-something peeps thrown in. I would not really say it's a good place to meet guys (lots of girls our for ladies night!) but it's a great time if you're down for some fun dancing and high energy. Loved it!…
Come bounce on the floors of this blossoming kid sister of the Crystal Ballroom..
In Short
Sandwiched between Ringler's and the Crystal Ballroom, Lola's Room hosts live rock shows and club nights that are intimate and easy on the wallet. The crowd you'll find here
depends on the evening's music selection. Most nights, a refreshing mix of people fills the dance floor. Every Friday, a few bucks grants you entry into an '80s dance night. Tables and booths with low lighting provide a place to sip drinks and rest tired feet.…
Friday nights - I love this place!. Excellent music selection, fun crowd, great dancing, lots of cute guys. The scene was so fun, everyone was enjoying the music and they take requests of all kinds of 80's. We danced to Billy Idol, AC/DC, The Cure, Frankie Goes to Hollywood, Michael Jackson, Depeche Mode, and Erasure all by request. The beers are a little pricey, but the cover charge is nothing. This isn't a snob bar, it seemed like everyone was fun and sociable. I highly recommend it for Friday nights. See ya there!…
Lola's ROCKS. Being in Portland for a weekend and stumbling upon a time machine. We ventured upon Lola's 80's night. I was instantly warped back to high school dancing to all my favorites and not having a care in the world about who was watching. Of course the "floating floor" was a little un-nerving but it didn't last long.…
Lola's rocks!. Remove Lauren1995's review! This is LOLA'S not Lush! Shake your booty to 80's & new wave. I highly recommend this place, no pretentious scenesters here! Cheap cover.
