In Short – Located in Washington Park, this lush garden features five acres of climbers, hybrid teas, grandifloras, floribundas, landscape roses and miniatures. More than 8,000 rose bushes are on display, planted in rows to allow up-close inspection. Every year, mostly during Rose Festival, thousands of visitors flock to Portland's original Rose Garden to see, smell and admire the flowers. The view of the city and Mt. Hood on clear days is spectacular.

The Rose Garden is so pretty. I have never seen so many roses before. So many different colors and varieties. I will definately come back when I am in town to the garden..it's definately one of a kind. Simply gorgeous.

Within the large garden are smaller themed areas, such as the Shakespeare Garden--featuring plants mentioned in the Bard's works--and the Gold Medal Garden, where winners since 1919 of Portland's own annual awards are displayed.
