Editorial Review for Ray's Ragtime – by Nancy Levenson

In Short
Let your imagination run wild as you take in the kaleidescope of clothing. Ray's is the place to snag styles from the '60s to the '80s. Get noticed with a glittery yellow wig, feathery boa, heart-shaped and rhinestone-studded sunglasses and white patent-leather platforms. Or maybe you just have a burning desire to bring a little '80s style back into your wardrobe.

This is the worst vintage store in the city. The clothes are poor quality (lots of tears, stains, and other defects, as well as very dirty) and the prices are about 50% higher than what they are at the other stores just a few blocks away. This would be bad enough but then we get to the staff. They are extremely rude and snotty. Any questions I asked were met with attitude and unhelpfullness. With 3 employees sitting behind the counter gossiping about how lame the last customer was, not one could take the time to show me where an article of clothing was when I asked, just a "i think it's over there" and get this, a roll of the eyes!! It got worse from there when another girl gave me attitude for trying on sunglasses. With the amount of good quality vintage stores out there, there is just no reason to go here.

Pros: None

Cons: Rude service, expensive, poor selection
