Excellent Korean cuisine. We really enjoyed the eight-course dinner, although the portions were smallish. They seem to be authentic Korean cuisine, but since we are non-Korean, take this with a grain of salt.

Best Korean food in Portland!. My wife and I loved our first visit to BeWon. The quality and freshness of the food rivaled my mom's home-cooking (I'm Korean). Prices are higher than other Korean restaurants, but the quality of food and service more than make up for it. The service was fantastic. The ambience was good, not great, but it's still a good date restaurant. The location was less-than-ideal, but parking was very easy. Next time we have a craving for Korean, we're definitely returning to BeWon.

Fabulous!. Our experience at BeWon was an absolute dream! The service coupled with the ambiance, wine selection (including Korean Rice Wine) and exquisite cuisine made this an unforgettable night. We have traveled the all over the country, dined in almost all of the Korean restaurants in the city we visited, and nothing even comes close to BeWon!

This is truly a gem. I highly recommend BeWon. It's well worth the money.

Take it form a Korean. I am a Korean and this restaurant is the best one in town. Unlike other Korean restaurants I've been to, the service here is EXCELLENT!!! Food may not be the most authentic, but the quality is well above others in the area. Spicy pork is one of my favorites.

Love It. Yes its pricey but it calls itself upscale. When you are in the mood for good service, good Korean food, (or experimentation with their set menu), or just plain romance -- this is the one to go to.

I hit all the Korean restaurants here -- and when in Seoul -- and Bewon has a place of its own.

Give me that great kim chee!. Big thumbs up to Bewon. The wait staff were very helpful and sweet (not to mention very attractive) and the Bul Go Gi meal blew my mind. I'm extremely familiar with Korean food and I think this place comes close to perfect. Kim chee was flawless

Korean cuisine finally gets the attention it deserves at this elegant gem.. The Scene
Attractive, simple and spare decor draws a steady stream of diners to this underground restaurant on hip Northwest 23rd Avenue. Patrons--couples, mainly--revel in trying new tastes. Service rises to the occasion with aplomb. Waiters go out of their way to explain the highly refined menu.

The Food
It's a feast of delicate proportions and vivid, authentic flavors. The most elevated experience comes through in a gracious, eight-course dinner that's more tantalizing than filling. Start with a thrilling pumpkin-rice porridge and a nori-speckled acorn jelly. At mid-course, hand-roll a shiitake-filled crepe with sweet horseradish dip. Then cap it off with a subtle stir-fry trio of oyster, shiitake and white mushrooms accompanied by myriad kimchis, sweet-spicy cuttlefish and crunchy black beans. For dessert, a calming ginger cider with pine nuts ends the meal with great finesse.

YUMMY!!. Bewon is one of the best Korean restaurants we've ever been to. I'm Korean so I feel that I can say that I know what I'm talking about. The service was excellent and well beyond our expectations. The prices were very reasonable. Being that it is in an almost hidden location, I hope that this restaurant continues to do well. My husband and I highly recommend dining here!

peerless. This truly is one of the finest restaurants in Portland. Bewon deserves to be packed every night of the week. The care that the owners, servers, cooks, and everyone else at Bewon give to their work is clear. I really cherish this place. Go.

best restaurant in portland!. we went on a weekend night. we called ahead to check if there was seating and there was...when we arrived they recognized us from the phone and were extremely friendly. the service is amazing--the servers are friendly, knowledgable, and accomidating. We are vegans and asked if they could make their 8-course meal vegan--no problem! They substituted everything that wasn't vegan and even added an extra dish for us. The food was absolutely amazing. We ended up staying half an hour after closing and didn't realize it--they didn't say a thing. I would definitely recommend eating here!!!
