Very impressive, caring surgeon. Last week, both of my dogs required surgery, one for laryngeal paralysis and the other for a torn ACL and meniscus. Dr. Simpson was thorough in her explanations, compassionate, set my expectations appropriately, and was genuine in her concern. I knew my dogs were in great hands. Dr. Simpson communicated with me throughout the day, and over the following days. I can't compliment Dr. Simpson or her staff enough for taking such great care of my pets.

Competent and compassionate. Dr. Simpson responded promptly to my vet's request for abdominal surgery asap on Guinny the Pooch, a corgi mix. She squeezed us into her schedule, briefed us thoroughly during the consultation, answered our questions, and showed sincere compassion for our concerns. Dr. Simpson came across to us as genuine, competent, and just the sort of surgeon my husband and I would trust with a family member. The surgery went well. Dr. Simpson was cautious and caring. I have every confidence in her abilities and I can't praise her highly enough for the how she handled this stressful situation.

Wonderful Surgeon. I was shocked to read the two negative reviews as my experience with Dr. Simpson and her staff was just the opposite. We took our Boston Terrier to Dr. Simpson last Friday after a wonderful specialty vet, Dr. Robert Franklin, had arranged for Lucy's surgery with her. All we knew was that Lucy had cancer and her prognosis was unknown. We feared we'd lose her.

Dr. Simpson took her the very next day and fit her into her schedule by performing the surgery during her lunch time. My husband had the unpleasant task of dropping Lucy off in the morning, but came home filled with praise for the wonderful and caring staff and Dr. Simpson. He said they were truly caring and dog loving people and he knew Lucy was in good hands.

Dr. Simpson called us immediately after surgery with the good news that Lucy's tumor was operable and that she was "cautiously optimistic" that her prognosis was good.

When we picked Lucy up to take her to Dr. Franklin's for post op care overnight, we could see how excited and genuinely happy she was that the surgery had gone so well. There was nothing fake about it. She gave us clear and concise instructions on Lucy's care and told us to call immediately if we had any concerns. A few days later, I did call with a question about a rash on Lucy's stomach which I left on her answering machine. She called me back within 10 minutes.

I highly recommend Dr. Simpson and would not hesitate to take either Lucy or her sister back to her if the need arose.

IRRESPONSIBLE, DISHONEST, UNETHICAL, ABUSIVE, UNDIGNIFIED. I'm very sorry to have to inform you of the shocking conduct to which Dr. Amelia Simpson subjected me, my family, and our beloved female Labrador (a purely kind, loving dog). We were referred to Dr. Simpson for a surgical consultation, and in the day before the appointment our dog's condition greatly worsened. The matter became one of emergency, abdominal surgery. Dr. Simpson entered the exam room and I was immediately struck by her plastic, stiff, bizarre face. Usually I never think this of a person, but she shocked me. She appeared highly impersonal, highly distant, and highly fake. She began to discuss some issues with us about the sublumbar tumor removal. She then asked if our regular doctor, Dr. Ron Earp, did a chest xray. We said no, and she began artificially pursing her lips and tilting her head -- a bizarre, fake attempt to show us she cared -- clearly fake facial contortions to try to convince us she cared. She then said she would take one. Before this, she and we spoke of our dog's immense pain, inability to go defecate or urinate, and she commented on her concern with our dogs stilted gate (meaning, that when she stood up, her back end was stilted downward). I was then sicked by how Dr. Amelia Simpson took our dog by the leash and very rapidly, very rapidly, lead our dog out of the room, causing our dog to slip on the slippery floor, and wrench our dog's back. I then heard Dr. Simpson say "oops" in a sickeningly fake manner. Our dog should have been lead from the room carefully and cautiously. The xray room is only 20 feet away. And there was time -- we had just spent 15 minutes talking with Dr. Simpson.

Dr. Simpson returned with the chest xray and with another series of fake facial contortions, mouth pursing, head tilting, etc, and told us the results were bad. We know the difference between someone who shows genuine facial expression and someone who is clearly faking their facial contortions. She stared at us with cold eyes as she tried to keep smirking her face.

My family was devastated by the realization our dog had no chance of life.

Grotesquely, Dr. Amelia Simpson said the following in exactly the way that a waitress or saleswoman would: "We can euthanize her if you like; we can do that here!" She actually seemed to have a slight smile, and actual interest in her tone of voice, as if she was treating us as other doctors who found this medical case interesting. I was just sickened at watching her, while I was trying to handle the devastating realization our dog was going to die. We decided to proceed with euthanasia, and asked to say good-by to our dog. Dr. Simpson continued with her disgusting happy energy and said that would be fine. Then, we began to say good-by. Not 5 minutes later Dr. Simpson returned, abruptly entered the door, and abruptly said "Ok ready?" with a half-smile and enthusiasm in her tone. These emotions were genuine of her, and they demonstrated what I had been fearing all along: Her lack of heart, compassion, social skill, and empathy.

Dr. Simpson should have immediately referred us back to our primary veterinarian to handle this. In not doing so, she was highly unethical, and highly abusive.

Our dog died, and we called our regular veterinarian. Dr. Amelia Simpson then returned to her horrifically fake, contrived conduct, and actually seemed bothered by us at that point, and in a rush to have us leave.

The next day, I telephoned Dr. Simpson to discuss some questions. I was made sick by Dr. Simpson's repeated giggles when she began responding. I then told her I was confused about why she, as the doctor, didn't realize we were distraught, and turn the matter back over to our regular vet. She giggled again, and then began to say "I did what you wanted me to do." She then quickly became impatient and irritated, and kept trying to dispose of me on the phone.
