food was cold, not good and expensive. My sister-in-law and niece from California were in town and wanted Mexican food. We decided to go to Juan Colorado because I had gone there before and it was alright. My sister-in-law wanted a shrimp burrito, which was not on the menu but the waitress said they could make it. So when she got her meal-it had a bunch of cold baby shrimp, very little cheese or anything else. Also she was charged 2 extra bucks. And the busboy spilled ice on us twice . My enchildas were cold and the cheese hardly melted. We had to ask several times for refills on our drinks . I told my family to complain to the manager but they wouldn't -I didnt want to complain to anyone until my meal was finished because I heard what waitpeople can do to your meals. So I didnt complain. But I am now. And I'm not returning. For 17 bucks -May I suggest the Chinese restaurant -Hot Plate- next door. That place is soo good.
Best Mexican Food in Portland!. My husband and I are from San Diego and most of the Mexican food in Portland doesn't even come close. Juan Colorado is some of the best mexican food we've had, period! It's very authentic, consistent and has great flavor. Their service is exceptional and they are very accomodating with any special requests or substitutions. We constantly go back and we refer all of our friends. Cheers!
Bland Enchaladas. I went to Juan Colorado because it is minutes from my house, but i wont be returning. I ordered a meal with 2 cheese and onion enchaladas to go. When I got home, the entire meal was covered in a half inch layer of cheese. There was barely any enchalada sause, the beans were not great and the rice had the texture of couscous. To top off a substandard Mexican meal, the coleslaw served on the side was old and extremely heavy on the vinegar. The wait staff was friendly and the restaurant was cute, but that isn't enough to make me come back.
Terrible customer service, poor quality of food. I have had several bad experiences and a few good ones. The last time we went, my husband received coleslaw on his plate that was old and dry and disgusting. When mentioned to the waitress, she said there was nothing she could do and that most people like their coleslaw and felt we were just complaining for no reason. I asked to speak to the manager who was cooking in the kitchen. He came and when confronted about the food and the service, told us that the food was good and that he made it. He said he would not charge us. With regard to his waitress, he refused to listen to us about her rude attitude. We will never return. For good Mexican food, try La Fogata in Beaverton.
Pretty Good Mexican Food. The entrees and rice is pretty good, but the beans are awful! They are very watered down and have no flavor. I don't even own salt at home and found myself sprinkling it on the beans. Other then this one complaint, everything else is really good. The people are very friendly and fast and the food is pretty authentic. I will definitely return.
GREAT FOOD AND GREAT SERVICE. I consider myself a regular of Puerto Vallarta, visiting several times a month. The food is excellent, and very reasonably priced.
