Horrible Service and Loooong wait!. My boyfriend and I visited the nw 23rd location for the Sunday Dinner option excited to try a new place with affordable prices.

We ordered our drinks and dinner from the waitress then waited a solid 10 min before our drinks arrived. Another 30 min passed before our salad and soup were brought out - all the while not hearing or seeing our waitress once. 45 minutes into our dinner our pasta finally arrived - not from our waitress but from a random waitress who put our food on the table and a refill of my drink (which was water with lemon) however she mistakenly gave me an iced tea. when I corrected her mistake, she brought me a glass of water. I asked for a lemon and a straw - she came back holding my straws with her bare hands and then stuck them inside my glass and walked away.

We sat and ate for a few minutes - my boyfriend asked the waitress for a glass of water (once she finally made her way over to the table behind us) 15 min later, no water. When my boyfriend asked her again she apologized and then finally got the water 5 min later.

An hour into our dinner of being ignored and treated like we were a bother to the wait staff my boyfriend and I got our food boxed up and asked for our dessert to go. We had no interest in staying at Pastini's any longer than we needed to. We paid the bill minus the tip and left.

I understand that restaurants get busy and thus the wait staff is spread thin - but asking your customer how their food is, or if they need anything should go with the territory of serving others - while expecting a tip.

I wish I could say we'd be back - but this experience has really soured our perception of Pastini's. The prices are cheap, but I'd rather pay more to actually be treated like a valid customer.

If you have an hour and a half to spare, don't want to be bothered and aren't too concerned about when your food or drink will arrive at your table - then head on down. Otherwise take your business elsewhere.

Love the food. We were in NW Portland the other night and decided to eat at Pastini's. We were so glad we did! The pricing, portions and the taste were the best we have had in ages. The specials Pastini offers plus the wine choices are superb. We didn't even select one of their specials as we wanted to try everything! Great for the person wanting authentic Italian food, the vegetarian and the gluten free patrons! Keep up the good work!

Love this place!. I have to say I love this place! It's one of my favorite restaurants to eat at and was very disappointed when my husband and I started a new workout/meal plan because rich, creamy pasta wasn't on the list. So, I started to look at the other foods the restaurant provided and now I'm in love with their salads! Who would have known that by cutting back on pasta I'd find a whole new world of delicious salads that did fit my meal plan. And, I must say, it's very hard to find a healthy, flavorful salad to eat quickly on my lunch break. Thank you Pastini!

Local Eatery is a Winner. We had a great time at Pastini! We were greeted and seated right away. The food came out in a timely manner and the server came back to ensure that we had everything we needed. I had the Spinach Salad which was delicious with the Butternut Squash Ravioli dish. A green salad and classic spaghetti and meatballs were perfect too! We love coming to Pastini for the cozy and clean atmosphere, the price (most pasta dishes are about $9!) the great food and warm service. A terrific Portland restaurant.

Great Pasta at a Great Price. Walked by and was drawn in by the smell... I started off with a ceasar salad-made just right-not over done w/ dressing. For my dinner I had the Lamb Sungo-I was 2nd guessing myself about this dish(not really a big lamb eater) untill I took my first bite. The lamb had lots of flavor and very tender. I was too full for dessert, but I be back again.

Normally Fabulous. Normally we love Pastini's. The NW location is an easy place for our whole family to meet.

This night was a disaster!!

We went to celebrate the fact our baby sister was in town and it was her birthday as well as our nieces.

When we arrived we were told we could not be seated until 1/2 of our party arrived, this was new. Then after seating the 7 of the 12 coming, no one came and waited on us. We would have ordered appetizers and drinks as usual, but no one even asked until all but three had arrived. By that time we were all too hungry, so ordered our drinks and dinner and proceeded to wait again.

We finally received our drinks and waited for our dinner. When dinner arrived it was hot and good as usual, but my brother had to go ask twice for refills of drinks and napkins for the kids. No one came to check on us during our dinner. No one asked if the adults wanted more drinks, coffee, wine or even water during dinner.

I got up to go to the restroom and when I came back there was a couple of birthday deserts on the table, but the waitress never came and asked if my husband or I would like desert or coffee while waiting for the others.

To top it off, we ask for our bill to be in 3rds. 2 of us paid with credit cards and left our tips on the card, 1 paid with cash. The waitress brought their remaining money back to the table, which was intended to be her tip. Our 70 year old father inadvertently picked up the cash and put it in his wallet and left. The waitress came back 3 times to inform my husband and me that the other party had not left her a tip. After having to ask what happened to the cash and having the waitress belt out that she did not put an 18% gratuity on the bill and wanted to know where the rest of her money was, we were embarrassed and upset.

The fact that the service was terrible at best, that the waitress came by more times to check on her tip then she did the rest of the evening and we were thoroughly embarrassed, we will not be back to this location. This was not the first time we have had horrible service from this waitress but everyone deserves a second chance. Or so we thought. If for some reason we do HAVE to come BACK we will be sure to not have this waitress wait on us again!

Delicious Italian Food w/ LARGE portions!. My second trip to Pastini was as successful as my first visit. I had previously visited their Bridgeport location and this trip to their NW locale was just as satisfying. The menu items and attentive service exceeded my expectations. As a Portland newbie, I’m thrilled to discover an Italian restaurant that has the perfect ambience for both a family dinner, a business lunch or drinks and cocktails with friends on the weekend. Pastini definitely has combined all of these attributes into one restaurant, and the best thing about it is their multiple locations all around PDX! Our business lunch with a group of 5 started off by sampling a little bit of everything on the menu. We tried the Roasted Garlic-Artichoke Spread with Bruschetta for our appetizer, and it was 100% garlicky-Italian goodness. The food that was served was as good as if we were visiting a fine dining establishment – but for LESS than half the price! The portions were large, and I ended up boxing half of my delicious Linguine Pesto Pollo entrée to-go, to take as leftovers for dinner. Pastini is definitely one of the best, most versatile Italian Bistros in Portland and I would highly recommend taking friends, family and out-of-town guests to enjoy the dining experience!

Always reliable, tasty, hot, fast, and the best Gin and Tonic in town!. My husband would rather eat here than anyplace in town. It's always great, great service, hot meals, quick, and the best Gin and Tonic in town!!! And under $40 each time! Always great!
