I WILL NEVER RETURN TO BELLAMAR!
First of all i get into the "salon" or so they say. I sit down in the owner Nancymarie Hendrick's chair. I'm expecting an amazing experience since Nancy had talked to me so nicely on the phone and made me feel like i would recieve one of the best experiences. She barely greets me and walks me over to sit in her chair. She walks away and i sit and wait for about 45 minutes. She runs around the salon not even paying attention to me, and laughing and talking rather loudly with her other stylists. I am about to just walk out when she finally comes to begin my haircut. The entire time she keeps getting distracted, talking to other guests, answering the phone and just plain ignoring me. When she does finally complete my haircut i look in the mirror and am astonished to see how horrible i looks! It is about 2 inches shorter than i had asked, completely uneven and the style that she did looked like a mess! I decided i was done with this salon and left.
I would warn all others to stay away!
Best Highlight. I had recently moved back to NE Portland and was stressing about finding a new salon. I made an appointment with Kris Jarvis and crossed my fingers. Boy did I hit the jackpot! I don't think I have ever had so many compliments on my hair and people ask me who did it. I of course obliged, and told them they had to go check out Bellamar and ask for Kris. I have an appointment this Wednesday evening and I can't wait!!
Wonderful experience. I have been a client of Nancy's for two plus years. I love my haircut and always get compliments. The staff is energetic and a lot of fun. They go above and beyond to give their clients a great experience. Come check out the Beaumont neighborhood while you're here. Thank you Nancy and staff!
I will never go back. I had gone to this salon for waxing in the past and knew they did a good job even if it was more on the spendy side and the front desk was not on the friendly side. My last appointment there the woman who was waxing my legs was wonderful, but as I went to lay on my stomach to get the back of my legs the sheet under me had long curly hairs (the man before me had long curly hair) and also short hairs all over. It was disgusting! To top it off the raised prices and the receptionist made me feel so unwelcome, there are far better places to go in Portland, I don't need the rude attitudes and filth when I'm going to the spa.
Not a honest place. I am a regular client of jessica and I love her, she is a great stylist. I used to pre - book my appt a head. The last time Bellamar call me to confirm my appt with jessica and not telling me she is no longer work there. I showed up for my appt . and it was put with someone else. So I asked the front desk where she go, no one tell me. I finally now know where she at. She now at Koipod Salon. I am so happy for her. No thank Bellamar.
Rude Place. I used to be a regular for Jessica, but had to FORCE myself into the place. I'd get GREAT cuts,color, and service from J, but when I'd go to pay, for example, I was treated rudely and often had to break up the giggles of all the workers and ask, "Anyone want to take my money?" Ridiculous. Or I'd have to stand and wait while someone cut in line, a friend of the owner's, while they had a chat over $12 shampoo and i was there to pay for a $140 service. just a rude, rude owner and atmosphere. the final straw was when they only had ikea catalogues and a few out-of-date fashion mags they expected me to cull through to find a haircut/style in. what, was i supposed to ask for the bookshelf cut? boy am i SO glad jessica has moved on. now if only i knew where she went?!?

Average.. I had a good run with this salon, and wish them well. After about a year of being fairly satisfied, I received poor service that ruined my hair, and got charged extra for a "conditioning treatment" that seemed to only make things worse. I know my hair wasn't intentionally ruined, but it's frustrating to have ruined hair breaking off at 3 inches after paying so much for professional hair service. I just wish I wouldn't have been charged extra for the damage that was caused by negligent over-bleaching.
great hair. I recently went to Bellamar after a bad hair experience. Jessica was wonderful, she fixed my bad hair color and made me feel good about my hair again. I went back to her for a haircut and she was once again great. She took her time and my cut was the cutest it has ever been. If you have a bad experience and need help I would tell you to go to Bellamar and ask for Jessica.

I want to thank the staff at Bellamar Salon and Day Spa for a fabulous experience! My stylist, Erika came in on her day off to do my hair! I was desperately in need of a hi light and cut before going out of town on a last minute business trip! She made my day, and I would refer anyone to her! I got tons of complements on my color, everyone noticed my updated cut right away! You made my day!
