What a nice warm welcoming salon. I went to Pure a week ago because my friends hair looked beautiful and I am happy to say so does mine now too. But what I was most impressed with was the great customer service there, when I arrived they offered me some thing to drink and hug-up my jacket. As I was waiting I had lots of questions about their beauty products and the gal at the reception area was nice polite and very informative. I really felt heard and it was the same when I had lots of question for my stylist .

This line of beauty products is very big and the stylist gave me options and a recommondation on where to start with my hair care. Which helped me a lot!

Its just a very nice comfortable feeling salon where everyone is there to help you, take time with you. Ive been to plenty of salons where you feel rushed in and out as they are on to the next person but not at Pure and I appreciate some one who takes time with me especially when I am taking time to treat myself.

Erika is ter-if-i-c-ka!. I am a Salon Snob and when I go I expect a certain amount of attention paid to me the customer. I also expect a certain amount of experience (years of heads came before me!) from my stylist. When I went to Pure I brought my expectations right along with me and I must say Erika was quite the surprise. First she is such a doll and then she not only has years of experience but its all with AVEDA! That 's huge!

Aveda Salons have good stylists but it's rare that you find some one who knew right away that Aveda was the product line for them and that she would be in an Aveda salon not matter what! I could just tell it was in her blood! Erika understand how important these products are to the environment and of course most of all to me!

Well I could go on and on, and I think I will. Erika gave me a new look from one of their many Aveda Mens hair cut collections book and it's Marvelous! And therefore so am I! She also had me try then buy (because I couldnt stand how great it worked) the Mens Grooming Cream. Calling all Men, this product is all you'll every need. Get it, Get it, and oh yeah get it!

Now go see Erika she'll make you over into a new Man!

Best Staff Best Service Best Salon in Portland!. I just got my hair done again last Thursday. I love this Salon! I was late getting there but when I got there they where glad to see me not upset at all that I was running late . The receptionist was great and very calming which helped me start to relax, she offered me tea or some water.My Stylist was so understanding and did not rush me through my service even though I was the one who was late, which was wonderfull. Everyone there is just so nice and they make you feel important.

My stylist is very talented with hair and I always get exactlly what I want for my hair cuts and color. And Believe me I change it up all the time but they just roll with it and they make recommendations along the way. Which I do appreciate. Infact she has saved me from myself alot of the time! I like this Salon because I do see the same faces everytime I go in to get my hair done not like other salons I have tried where every six months they have new stylist. I like the fact my stylist loves it there just as much as I do.

This time I had a full head of hi-lights and added layers to the ends for more body and movement. I am so excited about my new look I just had to tell everyone how great this place is and if you are looking for the Best Salon Salon in Portland go to Pure. You'll be thrilled with your hair and the service!

What happened to all of the employees??. Dear Pure,

I have been a loyal client for quite some time now, and in the last 2 months the majority of your staff has just "suddenly" disappeared! What is going on?? I can understand one employee leaving, but THREE stylists are now gone?!

I used to go to Melissa, then next thing I know.. she's gone. Then I requested Kelly, hey she's gone too! Finally I ask for Jennifer, and guess what.. she's also gone. Not only that - I can't get any information about where they've gone to! How frustrating to have the same people cut your hair for 3 years, and now you won't tell me where I can find them.

It would have been a lot easier if Pure would have been willing to just tell me where I could find at lease one of their former stylists. I understand a business' desire to retain clients... but when its sacrificing what the client wants -- it doesn't make much sense anymore.

Thanks for the great service for the last 3 years... but I don't like being treated like a 12-year-old - I know people don't just "suddenly disappear".

My Perfect Salon Experience!. WOW! I went into Pure Salon and Spa for my first time and i came out looking and feeling better than ever! I was nervous to get my hair done, but once i was put with my stylist, Erika, she made all my worries go away!

She discussed my hair with me and knew exactly what she was talking about. She made it a point to get to know me and really learn about my hair and what my needs were. She did an AMAZING job and i can't wait to come back again.

Not only was Erika wonderful, but the salon itself was a great place to be. There was friendly staff and everyone there was completly focused on the clients. It will definitely be the only place i go for my beauty needs!

Mathew Creates Miracles. Well at first I was a bit apprehensive about seeing a new stylist due to the fact that my previous gal up and left I was referred over to Mathew. He put me at ease right away, he never looked like it was a bother that i fielded so many questions at him and in fact I must have spent a good 15 minutes just conversing with him about my hair and what it needs, he was very knowledgeable and didn't rush me at all, even though I know he had too squeeze me in to his already busy schedule, to accommodate me, which I was very thrilled about. My color was a miracle in itself. My previous stylist never got my blonde so bright and perfect without any unwanted warm tones!!! Every other person I have been to in my whole life has never been able to do that. Ive always just lived with my hair thinking this was the best it could be, but not now. There's no gold banding anywhere and the midlights which he called "beachsand" was perfect, its like a very cool beige blond with just a pinch of wheat in it. I love it so much, and when I got back to work my entire staff was just amazed. So I just had to write a review to express my gratitude to Mathew. Thanks for my miracle!!!!!!!

Best Experience Ever. After moving to the neighborhood from Orange CO. I was a bit stressed to look for a new stylist. After calling into the salon I was booked with Mathew and am so happy I got him. His cutting style is amazing, i have difficult unruly hair and he new exactly what to do and what Not to do. What a pro. I listened to his advice product wise too and am here to tell you his precise recommendations were flawless, my hair continues to be smooth, silky, vibrant and easy to maintain!!!! I loved the upstairs spa area too and my brow wax and Tint were perfect as well. You sure dont meet many stylists that are great with hair and spa services as well. Mat is a true gem!

I must also bring forward how wonderful the front staff is as well. The lady who booked my appointment and the gal that facilitated my intake information was truly a professional through and through! I know when customer service is a priority to a company and when it is placed behind making money. Pure Salon has the best professional staff I have ever spent my money with.

I will recommend Mathew and Pure to whoever will listen. Thanks to whomever owns this salon.

Love this Salon!. I live in the neighborhood and always buy my Aveda products at Pure but today I got my hair cut and colored there by Erika...and she is good! Nice of course, friendly and above all she has great ideas and suggestions, she knows her stuff! And she is just this cute little thing!

I appreciated her knowledge of beauty products and experience in cut and color. It was really refreshing to have a hair-stylist talk about my hair cut and color and not about personal un-professional topics!

Thank you Erika, I now love my hair see you soon!

Great experience!!!. I also went to Melissa for a cut and color! She did a wonderful job, was very friendly and helpful in the look I was hoping to achieve. In no way, did I feel pressured or pushed into buying or spending an ungodly amount of money on product. However, I do realize that it is customary for the salon stylist to try and up sell the product available at their salon. I've noticed that if I use the product that they use at the salon at home then my hair seems to maintain its color and style much longer than generic brands at, lets say, a grocery store.

(Over all, my experiences {yes I have see her multiple times, yes, she's that good} were excellent, suburb, and fantastic!!!)

I will/have followed her where ever she may go....by the way she is @ the Bob Shop!!

Excellent cuts, friendly relaxing atmosphere. Following the recommendations I found here, I went to Melissa a few months ago for a cut. Overall she was pretty good, although maybe not as careful with the layers as you'd expect from a $50 haircut. Unfortunately, she was really pushy with trying to sell me the most expensive products. (Sorry, but I'm not likely to buy $20 shampoo AND $20 conditioner AND all 3 styling products averaging $25 apiece, that's a little much.)

When I called for my next cut, I thought I'd give her another try. However, I'm informed she no longer works at the salon.

So I tried Mathew. And he was Fantastic!!! He was very friendly, welcoming and talented. I got a great cut and style, and he didn't give me the hard-sell on products. I left feeling relaxed and happy, and would recommend Mathew to anybody.

(He's a class act, too: the only thing he would say about Melissa's disappearance was that it was "sudden".)
