I'll admit to a slight obsession with old-timey hamburger joints, and Jem's is a great one. Super charming decor, big fresh burgers, and banana splits that are less than $4--this is an all around wine country win.
Excellent burgers!!! Love this place.. Excellent burgers!!! Love this place. We found very good customer service and friendly employees. All the food was wonderful! We will go here any time we are passing through town. Can't wait to take my boys there.
Incredible food.
I have been a resident of Newberg for the past 17 years. Jem 100 has had the best burgers in town for a very long time. My most recent favorite: Teriyaki Burger. This isn't the place to go if you need it in a hurry - choose a drivethru - but it's worth the wait.
Tom V, owner, makes every effort to be a good role model to the MANY kids he has employed over the years. They are a stellar members of the community & provide sponsorship to many organizations/events each year.
Unbelievable - so much for mom-n-pop local shop. JEMs needs to get a grip, and quickly. I am not kidding, after ordering a double scoop in a waffle cone the employee measured/weighed the cone then proceeded to scrape off about 25percent of the top scoop until it weighed the appropriate amount. For a mom-n-pop type shop their service better be equal or better than their product and neither was the case. One employee was busy working on another persons order and asked their co-worker to help us. The response came with a "oh sure ok...do you guys know what you want yet" Then to have a lopsided cone, scraped apart to get an exact weight. I can't start telling enough people about what an ice-cream joke JEMs is. . . . Anybody passing through town is best to stop well before Main Street - do NOT NOT NOT stop at JEMs-is-a-Joke.
Perhaps the person making the cone was a new employee trying to get it right.
One of the best burgers on the West Coast. First visited this old fashioned joint back in college in '97 and continue to visit everytime I make it up to the Portland area. The hamburgers here stand out, most notably for their special relish and consistently well prepared patties. Milkshakes also shine here!
AMEN!!
