Delicious Food and Great Staff
by brendan1990
I absolutely love this restaurant. I am a huge fan and every time I go here I have a great time. The prices are high but the portions are large. The food is all quality and I can't recommend this place more. The waiters cook in front of you and do cool tricks. This is definitely one of my favorite restaurants in the Sherwood area.
- Pros: Great Environment, Friendly Staff, Good Food Portions
- Cons: Sometimes very busy
Ruined my mother's birthday dinner.

My family and I chose Fuji's for my mother's birthday dinner this week. We decided to go there because the last time we went to Fuji's was back in 2000, and it was (emphasis on "was") a neat place - food cooked tableside, chefs tossing knives, all that fun stuff. What we got this time was the worst service I have experienced in more than 10 years and food much worse than your typical $5 wok-on-the-run type joint.
Here's the rundown for our night: We arrived at 7:00 and was sat at a large table with 4 people already there, waiting to order. We ordered drinks and then all of us waited until 7:45 (45 minutes!) before they would take our food order. (The place was not busy) During this time we had only 1 tea refill. In fact, throughout the whole meal we didn't get any real tea refills, just more hot water to steep my already-used-and-now-flavorless tea bag. The tea low quality, too.
We ordered our food, which was very expensive, and waited again for a chef to arrive. After another 25 minutes a chef begins to cook. Here's where it gets fun - the fried rice was so dry that the rice kernels were crunchy. The yakisoba noodles were so inedibly dry and burned that they cracked apart into fragments. My scallops were overcooked to the point where they felt like hard rubber tires. The veggies were stale. And ALL of the food was saltier than beef jerky. Even the salad.
We didn't leave a tip; that's how bad it was. Now, listen here, I don't mean "we didn't leave a tip because it didn't live up to our expectations." We are not snobs, nor do we demand great luxury. I mean "we didn't leave a tip in the hopes that people will get fired." Every person at my table left full plates of food behind, and we turned down their offers for a to-go container. It was terrible. We ate at another restaurant on the way home from Fujis.
The price - $120 for terrible service and very, very poor food.
My suggestion - don't go to Fuji's.
- Pros: The sushi wasn't bad, but not good either.
- Cons: Slow service, very very bad food, high prices, waste of time and money.
It was okay I guess

My daughter wanted sushi for her birthday and Fuji's was close. I asked around and got relatively positive responses so thought we'd give it a try. We were disappointed. The food was fine, the atmosphere was fine. Prices are high. We had heard that sushi was 1/2 price Mon-Thur. Apparently this is only true for parties of less than 6. We were a party of 6 (2 adults, 4 kids). They also added a 17% tip. We were not happy with either of these. As a family, we should have the discount. As a group, we prefer to be "allowed" to choose our tip amount. Service was not rude exactly, but not especially attentive either. They were simply doing only what was necessary to cover the job. They did not seem overly friendly or caring of our dining needs. The server even seemed to have a tendency toward feelings of offense and misunderstanding. They did bring my daughter something special for her birthday (a pineapple boat w/candle) and we all sang, but I doubt we'll go back any time soon. (by the way, we were there on a Wed night and the place was not very busy)
