Little White Shed.
First off, let me just say this review is for the Little White Shed. I have been to the Roadhouse a few times and have never liked it, typical McMenamins service and food. So if you come here, just walk down the path towards the Octagonal Barn and there you will find the Little White Shed.
The Shed is a Scotch and Cigar bar, that also serves beer and other drinks. You can also order food there as well. The Summer months are really the time to visit, as you can relax outside on the picnic tables and enjoy the beautiful setting around you. Its is very laid back, you need to be able to take care of yourself and not rely on table service if you come here. Be a grown up and take the few steps required to go in and order your beverages, etc.
We have been coming here for years and it is our regular after-work hangout on Fridays. There are a variety of local and regulars that come here and it totally makes the experience complete. :)
smaller happy hour menu and "pint" glasses...r u kidding???.
I've been going here for years, and they've always had normal sized pint glasses...the typical pint glass you see at every single pub in all of America all over the world. My husband and I show up for happy hour the other day, and what do you know??? They've gone the cheap route, and decide to swap they're glasses for ones that are clearly waaaay smaller...smaller than the kitchen sized glasses in my own cupboards at home. While I was there, I heard at least 5 people walk up to the bar and ask something like, "is this really a pint???", while the bartender tries to explain. The truth is, no, it's not. and there's nothing to explain other than, McMenamins is obviously cheap. What a joke.
On top of this, they cut their once decent happy hour menu in half AND raised their "pint" (not really a pint) price. WTF? I could deal with the horrible service and sometimes cold food, but this takes the cake. This place has become a joke. Maybe if they treated their customers right and gave good service, they wouldn't have to jack prices, make their beer cups smaller, and cut their happy hour.
Go somewhere else....this place isn't worth it.
Great place for a Wedding. We had our wedding at the Cornelius Pass Roadhouse. We chose this venue because of the beautiful event spaces and because of the organized and helpful event staff. It also has lower prices than some of the other McMenamins properties (ie Edgfield). And the off-season prices continue to the end of May. Because the space was so gorgeous, we needed almost no decorations for an absolutely beautiful wedding. The McMenamins' staff helped us with our planning, and really thought of everything, they helped us coordinate rentals. Thanks to their awesome event staff, our wedding went off without a hitch! It was an amazing day. The only drawback to the day was that they charged full price for drinks during our reception even though it was happy hour in the restaurant. Otherwise, I could not have asked for a more perfect day!
Once again, I got suckered in by friends to go to this place.
Of course, the grounds are beautiful, but that ‘s about it.
The service is abysmal. Always has been, always will be.
Our waiter spilled water on the table and never offered to clean it up.
When we asked him to clean it up, he said, “I will get right on that.” 10 minutes later, we mopped it up ourselves using surplus napkins from the table next to us (since we did not have any napkins of our own)
He never returned to clean it up.
When a neighboring table asked him for something, he stopped in his tracks, rolled his eyes and turned around to see what it was they had the gall to ask him for.
When the food finally arrived, of course it was cold.
The only napkins provided were the ones swiped from an adjacent table.
Make sure to bring your own bottled water if you do not want to choke on your dinner while waiting for a refill.
The saddest part is the McMenamins' management acknowledges that the service is terrible, but they don’t care because they are always packed. I was personally told this by a manager on a previous visit.
Some people are slow to learn, myself included
I prefer to give my money to establishments that appreciate my business, give me the basics such as hot food, a dry table, and drink refills.
Never again. This wallet is closed
Staffed By Morons. Checked in with hostess for 3. She told us a 15 minute wait. I looked in and saw 12 open tables. We waited 20 minutes and saw at least six tables open up while waiting. I asked the hostess if we could sit at an empty booth and she said no because they were too busy. McMenamins needs to cease with their mandatory bonghit for staff before starting their shifts.
BAD EMPLOYEES INCLUDING NEW MANAGEMENT. I have been eating here for the last couple months, there was an extremely well like assitant manager that was always WORKING HARD, and gave you everything you needed as a customer. I recently went back to realize she had been let go. I asked the Head manager what happend, i didn't ask for her alchohol breath (unprofessional) the service now has been unacceptable by all servers, and now management. Kyle has been more than willing to help. But watch out kyle... it seems that the one person i was talking about was fired for rewarding her employees with an after work Beer. WHAT!? she gave the best service EVERYTIME! and now i have someone serving me reaking like vodka!? way to go McMenamins! HORRIBLE SERVICE. RUDE EMPLOYEES. And they get rid of the one person turning that place around...if you have a wedding...i hear that not too much goes wrong. But if you want a good family/party meal i suggest you go somewhere else.
Great place for lunch.
They recently changed their menu and added a lot of different tasty items. They are of course in line with all of the other McMenamins pubs. Decent pub fare.
The servers are always awesome.
