THE BEST!!!! I have been going to Doreen for a few years now and have had waxes all over the country and nothing compares to The Face Place!!! The Brazilians here are almost painless if you can believe it. Doreen is SUPER fast and her prices are more than reasonable. This is by far the BEST wax you will ever get!!!

Worth every penny!. I've been going to Doreen the wax qeen for years but like everyone else right now, I thought I could save a few bucks and try one of those home waxing kits. Let me just say I learned my lesson the painful, messy, time consuming way! Doreen you are worth every penny PLUS a handsome tip!

GREAT Waxing Service!. Being a newcomer to Portland, I trusted Citysearch to find a place to get a bikini wax. I scheduled a Brazilian wax with Doreen at The Face Place based upon Citysearch reviews. The Face Place is in a lovely location in the Pearl District and the facility itself is clean and inviting. Doreen is professional, friendly and is an excellent waxing technician. She made it as painless and as comfortable as possible. She was very personable and down to earth. I concur with a previous reviewer that she is indeed “The Wax Queen”! I received respectful, outstanding service with amazing results.

doreen is amazing!!. I love the face place, Doreen is a sweetheart and great at what she does. I came here to leave stellar review and saw the one below and I'm not sure if that person had a freak one time experience there, or just has a bad attitude or what, but I've seen Doreen multiple times and have several friends that do as well and she is always great.

Being in the industry I know what it's like to not have a receptionist and have people expect you to have openings that day, or have gotten your call at 9pm the night before for your appointment tomorrow. sometimes it's just not possible to get to all the messages and deal with appointments and walkins.

I've never known Doreen to scream or huff, i can't even picture it. she's the sweetest lady and made me feel right at home.

even distracts me from the painful service i'm getting done! remembers things about me and has squeezed me in for last minute appointments.

she is very professional, her space is beautiful and i highlly recommend her.

she also gives a discount for bringing cash or check!

Best wax in Portland. I've been going to Doreen for about 2 years now for waxes. Before i found the face place i tried many other places and wasnt satisfied and she did such a great job, fast, and with a friendly chatting that i felt I had known her forever. I wouldnt go anywhere else and i've turned many friends on to the face place and they all love it too.

Just this last Sat I was waxed by the other woman that works at the face place and She did a fantastic job too. Very thorough and made me feel very comfortable. I would highly recommend the Face Place and either the owner or the other women. Sorry i forgot her name, Starts with an S.

Try them out you wont be disappointed!! But make an appointment, they are very busy these days.

Absolute worst!!!. If I could detract stars I would take away -1000000. I am 7-1/2 months pregnant, so my hormones are a bit more touchy than normal, but regardless, bad service is just bad service. I called yesterday and left a message to request an appt. for an eyebrow waxing. I never heard back from anyone so I decided this morning since I would be passing by, I would take advantage of the "WALK IN WELCOME" policy that was listed on the website.

I waited a few minutes before the woman, who apparently was the owner, emerged from upstairs with a client. She asked me what I wanted so I said, "Your website said you accept walkins, I was wondering if I could get an eyebrow waxing done." She huffed and mumbled something about walkins as though it wasn't clearly stated on the website and then bitched at me, "Well I dont have any time for you today" even though there was no one even in the waiting area. Since she was making such a big deal about the walk-in I told her that I had called yesterday to try to make an appt but had never heard back to which she asked my name and then proceeded to yell at me, " I DID call you!!! Maybe YOUR PHONE didnt get it but I called, Im the OWNER why would I LIE?!!!" I was so disgusted by the total lack of respect this woman who should be service oriented, its her BUSINESS, was giving me. I told her, well I didnt get anything and I certainly wouldn't just walk in if you had actually called me. She then proceeded to continue berating me as I made my way to the door and slammed it behind me. I will NEVER EVER consider going to this place, and I already sent messages to all of my girlfriends about what happened so they will not use this establishment either. What a shame. You would think with such a down economy service with a smile would be a must. All the woman had to do was be polite and I would have just scheduled an appt for a better time. Instead she screamed and huffed at me and neither I nor anyone I know will ever give her our business in the future.

Best Brazilian Wax in Portland. I had my first Brazilian with Dorene. Of course it hurt a bit but I can't imagine it being any better. She came with recommendations from friends and went out of her way to make me comfortable and help me through my first experience. From what I've heard there are not a lot of people that do Brazilians for guys; I will definitely go back!

Great Wax, Great Service and Great Makeup. After having a couple horrible waxing experiences, I didn't have high hopes. Having especially sensitive skin I was nervous to try again. The ladies at the Face Place provided me with outstanding service and amazing results. I reccomend them to all my friends looking for an unpretentious, reliable and reasonable wax. I trusted the reviews and boy am I glad I did!

My first Almost Painless Brazilian !!!!. Yes, it was almost painless. It was an experience that I will never forget. Dorene gave me my first Brazilian, and she did a very good job. She was very personable, and down to earth. She talk to me the whole time, and made me very comfortable. Dorene made sure that there was not one stitch of hair left. I totally recommended her to everyone that is thinking about getting any waxing done. I guess they gave her the right nickname The Wax Queen!

Dorene is such an amazing person!!!!!. I have been going to the Face Place for about 3 years now. Dorene truly cares about all her customers. She is so respectful and professional, and at the same time being so much fun and easy to talk to. She makes everyone feel so comfortable and like one of her friends. I get the Brazilian wax, and wouldn't go anywhere else but to Dorene to get it done. She's fast, thorough, and painless. I was referred to Dorene by a friend of mine and have since referred her to everyone I know. If you are looking to get any facial or waxing you have to go to the Face Place, and I promise, you will never want to go to a different place.
