Wonderful. I had a great time here. The food is exceptional. The service friendly. Some of the best thai i have tasted.
Avoid this place.
Upon walking in, the environment was warm and inviting. The waitress was friendly and seated us rather quickly, however we where placed in a booth next to a policeman doing office work when half the place was empty. This totally ruined the mood on what I thought was going to be a good dining experience
Now about the food, everything from the massamun curry to the cashew chicken was extremely bland, even after we ordered our curry to be really spicy. Also the potatoes in our curry where still a bit raw and crunchy.
After we got seated, our waitress was never to be seen again. All we wanted was for her to come back and refill our water so we could wash down all the MSG that saturated our cashew chicken. I typically don't like to give bad reviews, but I know what really good Thai food should taste like and this was certainly not it.

Wonderful Thai Food + Sushi!. This is a beautiful, tucked away restaurant with a lovely inviting atmosphere, friendly and tentative staff, and GREAT FOOD! Occasionally it can get busy around dinner time (Fri & Sat) but order a quick 'Thai Iced Tea' and you won't mind the wait! The food is slightly more Americanized than authentic (some dishes are made a tad less spicy) but no worries as you can specify your spice levels to your taste buds delight! Restaurants that do not go overboard on the spices tend to be better acclimated to their customers needs anyway. This restaurant is a great place for both a romantic evening and/or large family gatherings (very kid friendly). It could easily accommodate a large business luncheon or team meeting. Highly recommended! Especially if its your introduction to Thai food!
worst pad thai I've ever had. I've been eating Thai for at least 10 years and I always use a restaurant's "Pad Thai" dish to rate it. It was horrible. If you are familiar with different types of Pad Thai, it was the type that is red/orange and kind of sweet. Very starchy and mushy. I much prefer the type that has a more intense flavor and is usually a darker brownish color. Also, the tofu was not fried which made it very bland and rubbery. My husband ordered the Pad See Ew and it was pretty good. I'd just stay away from the Pad Thai.
Great Thai and Sushi in the 'Couve. We love good Thai food, and Arawan has it. Every dish I have tried has been good to excellent - especially the curries - rich and complex flavors - not the runny bland or over-spiced variety. This location recently added sushi, and suprisingly for a Thai place, some of the best sushi we've ever had - high quality and so fresh a good vet could probably put the fish back together. Not a huge sushi selection, but what they do have is great. The service is excellent. They recently expanded, so seating is not a problem as it was at times in the past. Full bar and nice wine list too. Great for Take-out.
Worth a visit. Arawan was my first Thai experience, and I have since kept coming back. The food is very tasty, the setting is peaceful and inviting, and the service is wonderful. They also serve Sushi at this location, which I have tried on a few occasions and it is also very good. Overall I recommend Arawan for a great Thai experience that is reasonably priced.
Tasty and Quaint. Great place. I thought Chaba Thai had a grip on the best Thai food in town until I tried this little spot North of the Border. Quaint atmosphere, great service (ask for the owner, Zhou) and fantastic food! What more could one want?
