Tips for Thai Princess Restaurant

Not going back. We use to go to Thai Princess on a frequent basis. The last two experiences have been awful. On the first occassion, we took out of town guests to lunch -after 20 minutes we walked out without having gotten menus.

After this we got take-out a few times and noticed that the food had dropped dramatically in quality. (see "mediocre at best" )

Last month we decided to take house guests to dinner. The food was mediocre to poor and the service was not only slow but surly and rude. We were embarassed and had to apologize to our guests.

We will not eat hear again.

Superior Thai food. I work near Thai Princess. There are many restaurants in this area due to high tech businesses. This is my first choice place to have lunch with a coworker. There are lots of Thai restaurants; to me this one is superior.

I usually order larb or yom but I have also had the other dishes. Everything is fresh and cooked just the right way. The grilled chicken is done to perfection. If you go on Friday at lunchtime I suggest getting there at 11:30.

Service is friendly and intelligent.

Keep coming back for more!. We love Thai food, and Thai Princess is a find! The pineapple fried rice is to die for, very consistently delicious.

Mediocre at best. My wife and I eat a lot of Thai in every city we visit. There are a lot of good Thai restaurants in the Portland, Beaverton, Hillsboro, Aloha area. We currently live in Hillsboro and used to frequent Thai Princess. We stopped eating there because we got tired of playing Russian roulette with the quality and service at Thai Princess. The sauces were under-spiced, meats overcooked, dishes were usually bland and it seemed like they used the same two sauces for every dish we tried. If you want consistently good Thai food in the Hillsboro area then stay away from Thai Princess and Thai Orchid and try Zaab on baseline (Hillsboro) or Rama Thai on route 8 (Beaverton). Rama Thai is more traditional with less ambiance but very good food and Zaab is less traditional but very flavorful, consistently good and has nice ambiance and great service.

Good finds.. We took out right before a trip to Lincoln City a while ago and it was good. We ordered Pad Thai and they sure don't joke around in the kitchen because it was good!

Awesome Thai Find!. Although we're not crazy about downtown Hillsboro, we'll deal with it to get to Thai Princess. The dishes are spiced and flavorful, and the Pad Thai is the best we've had in the area (winning over westside favorites Thai Orchid and Typhoon! for sure). We also like to order the pineapple fried rice. The peanut sauce served with appetizers is so good, I could just eat it from the spoon! On top of it all, the service is wonderful! I once ordered a dish I'd never tried before and didn't like it, with a smile they took it back and made me something new (and delicious). Not overpriced at all. Give it a try for sure!

Good Curry. This is a pretty good place to get (green, red or yellow) curry, and pad thai. The soup is complimentary, and it is good also. This place is fairly close to my house and good enough that I keep returning. I only go during lunch, to save a few bucks a plate.

Yum. I enjoyed the Pad Thai here. The other members of my party ordered other dishes and everyone enjoyed them, although they skimp on the meat a bit. I would go again for food. And the service was very nice.

New Tigard Location. Nice little place, flowers & tableclothes but small awkward layout. I ordered "fresh rolls" to go. I wasn't impressed with the menu, it's virtually the same as most other thai menus- Nothing exciting.

I was disappointed in the the 3 skinny salad rolls, they came with Peanut Butter Sauce (the menu said sweet & sour sauce). They contained shredded iceburg lettuce, vermicelli noodles, tofu, carrot & mint. Not attractive or mouth-watering. Loosely rolled & didn't have that satisfying crunch- the texture was lacking...no bean sprouts or cuke per menu.

Peanut sauce was awful! Salty, hint of coconut milk flavor, no sweetness/spicyness whatsoever.

I may go back and try Pad Thai, but they failed their big opportunity to wow me. I was NOT impressed.
