The actual customer service is very strange, although I think the language barrier and mannerisms of the people who work there play a huge role in that. I don't think it's personal. The food is SO greasy, but it tastes SO good...which is the only reason I continue to go back. I've sat down in the actual restaurant, and the service was pretty terrible, so I didn't tip. They forgot the drink I ordered and I asked them to split the tab between my friends and I (a simple task) and that wasn't done.
Reservations mean nothing. I've eaten here before with one or two other people and they tend to be very busy at lunch time. So I made reservations today for 6 people at noon (they only take reservations for parties of 6+). My group showed up at 12:03 and they had given away our table. Two other groups of 6 had shown up right before us and they just assumed one of the groups was mine or didn't even bother to look that at their reservation list. They offered to sit us outside where it was less than 60 degrees or wait 30 + minutes for a table inside, where there is NO waiting room unless you want to sit on the lap of someone already eating. They sent us on our way with a very insincere apology for THEIR screw-up. So we had to find somewhere else downtown at noon that could take a party of six right away - without reservations. Rock Bottom turned out to be a much better choice for a birthday lunch!!!
Good food, fast service. Seated immediately; attentive service, great dinner prices, fast service, perfect portion sizes, and consistently great food. THANKS!
Good Thai joint downtown. Bangkok Palace is a good lunch location during the week--I can't speak for dinner, as I've only been there for lunch. The food is very good--especially the pad thai. The portions for the lunch meals are quite generous, as I've usually had to get a box. The location and decor are positives, but the crowd at lunch can be quite thick, so recommend getting there early. Service is generally speedy, although carry-out seems to take a while. The staff, while not overly friendly, is competent and prompt. Avoid sitting near the door during the cold season, as there's no protection from the draft when it opens.
Mediocre Food, Mediocre Service. Bangkok Palace looks nice, but you can get better food for cheaper, and with friendlier service at nearby food carts.
yum!. had lunch here with a friend a few weeks ago. extremely fast service, and one of the best yellow curries I've had anywhere. great thai iced tea as well.
Asolutely Awful. Poor service. Bland, greasy food. The only mildly pleasant part of the experience is the nice restaurant decor. Overall disappionted with the experience & won't be going back.
