Excellent Facility!.
My dogs have been going to the Doggie Day Care at Schroeder's Den ever since they were puppies. In fact, I learned about them when I went to the puppy romps there held by Kirsten Nielson and I liked the place so much I went back to sign up for doggie day care.
My dogs LOVE it! They can't wait to get into the building and never look back at me as they head off to hang out with their buddies. When I pick the dogs up in the evening, I always get a report on how they did, and the dogs are always tired and happy.
I strongly recommend Schroeder's Den!
Just like Family.
Schroeder's Den offers the best doggie-day-care service around. The owners and employees sincerely care about the dogs they care for, and have a clear understanding of dog psychology and behavior. Leaving your dog with them is like the next best thing to leaving them with family. They really get to know your dog and his/her personality, needs, and temperament. If something isn't right, they notice, and they'll be sure to talk to you about what's going on. You can be assured that when you leave your dog at Schroeder's Den, he's safe, cared for, comfortable, and satisfied. After trying a few other places in town, I'd never chose anyone but Schroeder's Den.
And, they're Puppy Romp and obedience classes with Dr. Kirsten Nielsen are excellent too!
Response to ethno42. To be clear, we do NOT and never have used shock collars at Schroeder's Den. Our manager brought out a Citronella collar to show to this client. Her dog was having anxiety related issues and we wanted to show her the collar to see how she felt about trying it for a behavior related to her anxiety. The collar was never used on her dog. We brought out the collar to be sure she had no objections to the use of it (Citronella collars spritz a little citronella spray, they do not shock). This client chose to complain publicly rather than just opt out of our use of it. She clearly misunderstood our explanation to her. It's possible we assumed too much that she knew what a citronella collar is.
USE A SHOCK COLLAR. I believe strongly in positive dog training and thought I had found a place that shared my philosophy based on my conversation with the owner and their website that states they have "a commitment of establishing and building a relationship of honesty and trust with each of our customers". Imagine my surprise when I picked up my dog only to find her still wearing a shock collar! I did not take my family pet in to be abused!

Awesome and Trusting Owners. I came here after a horrible experience with A Dog Gone Good Place. My dog break her foot at the other place...they deny it happened because I filed a legal claim and won and they knew they were in the wrong but want to keep it as quite as possible. They said my dog was too high energy as the excuse they give a lot to former clients. Scroeder's Den will actually put your dog in time out if it gets too excited and assist in correcting it's behavior. Unlike A Dog Gone BAD Place, they just make you feel guilty and say you have a bad dog. They are in it ONLY for the money. DON'T BE FOOLED at A DOG GONE GOOD Place. They look good but kind of draw you in. CHECK OUT SCHROEDER"S DEN. It will be worth it.
Safe, Clean, Professional, Wonderful, Friendly!.
I don't think I can say enough good thinks. We take our dog to the Puppy Romp and she abosolutely loves it, she has lots of friends! We only take her for an hour and by the time we get home she is wiped out! The prices are very good especially if you get the pack!
We too, are taking an obedience class from Kristin Nelson and it's great. I love that it's indoors, since we live in Portland!
Can't wait for doggy daycare I know Ella Marie is ready!
Best on the Westside. I checked out all the doggie daycares this side of town and Schroeder's was clearly the best. I got a good feeling about the owners. I really felt they're trustworthy and I liked their philosophy too. They keep a very clean facility compared to the others. I also took a class from their trainer Kirsten Nielsen. She was wonderful. I highly recommend them.
