The loungy side to their sister restaurant, MINT, next door. Dimly light with exposed brick walls, lounge style seating in a "sunken living room" section in the back of the bar, Cocktails reign here and the wine selection is decent as well. The sweet potato fries are always tasty.
Best lamb burgers in town!. went for happy hour and their lamb bruger is remarkable !!! it come with sweet potato frieds: like candy !! awesome outdoor patio. this place might become my new home.
A winning selection of exotic drinks, an inky-black lounge and chic clientele.. Cocktail maven and author of "Hip Sips" Lucy Brennan opened this cavernous, brick-walled lounge to serve as a holding pen for the neighboring hotspot, Mint. The dimly lit space fills nightly with chic twenty- and thirtysomethings who toast their good fortune with cocktails from the impressively long list. A sunken back room provides seating beyond bar stools and stiff banquettes; the room also creates a more comfortable space to sip standouts like the beet-infused Ruby and the Avocado Daiquiri that put Mint on Portland's mixology scene map.
Cool but could use a little more. Very hip place with creative cocktails. Slightly stuck up atmosphere. Good food and great happy hour. Needs a little more interested and approachable atmosphere. Drinks are good but made with cheap liqours. Ask for the good stuff and you will be better off!
Disappointed. New in town. Managed a few hot spots in my time. Seated a long time, order my fav bottle of French Champ. Loong time later, hot glasses arrive-reply: "just the stems are hot!" Tastes old/flat.Laugh it off- order the clam cevich'; the blandest ever? Laugh. Order a platter. The chirizo can be bought at any 7-11. Ah, focus on the famous exotic drinks. All w/sugar. Don't want that.Ask for the bartender to make something special. She points to something. It arrives w/an inch of sugar on the rim. Reply: "Oh-it's just on the rim!" Laugh. "You silly goose, just get a margarita!?" Did she just call me that?I'm twice her age(37)-R U kidding? If I just wanted a marg-I'd gone to a cantina. Left a 20% tip-and will never be back. Lesson: Try and not judge anyone-U never know who they R.
Great drinks!.
I went to 820 because a friend recently got a job there. The drinks were FANTASTIC and I will definitely be back. I had the Bella and Lucy's Sidecar (I loved both), but there were many more I would have liked to try.
I didn't have any food, but what I saw coming out of the kitchen looked very good. If you want great drinks, this is the place to go!
maybe the beautiful people are over it. went in a coupla weeks ago; both sides pretty empty; sat for 15 minutes with a glass of water waiting for someone (anyone from a staff who was merely standing around) to take my order; got tired of waiting and left; by the looks of the empty bar/restaurant the "beautiful people" got tired of waiting, too...why does "hip" often translate into total lack of hospitality?; slacking isn't very trendy.
Trendy Spot. Took a date here after dinner. It's a good place for atmosphere but the drinks could have been better. Great to go in warm weather bc there's a patio outside, the ambiance was really cool and overall I really liked it, but some of the drinks weren't spectacular and when we ordered a Greyhound I couldn't taste a drop of alcohol. The crowd was good - busy but not packed in, but the service was a little slow with the drinks. But if you're looking for ambiance, it's a good spot.
