New favorite restaurant – It's always a promising sign when you're entering a restaurant for the first time as the people exiting are compelled to give you rave reviews about the place. That was the case with our first visit to Karam a couple of weeks ago. And both the food and the experience lived up to the praise. Our group ordered a pretty wide selection of items from the menu and everything was delicious. And the service was top-notch. The family who owns and runs the restaurant are welcoming, fun, generous, and just seem to be very, very nice folks. Karam will be a regular destination for us from now on.
A real Surprise! – What a nice surprise! Last nite after the movies, we went to Karam. We are from Phoenix and are spending some time here in Portland. Someone suggested Karam, and we were delighted with their recommendation. It's not fancy. That's not important to us. We are far more impressed with the quality of the food than the ambience. Starting with the appetizers..taboule, mezza, including falafel, hummus, stuffed grape leaves and more, and onto the mezza meats or the lamb kebabs, we were all 4 very pleased with everything. We have decided to return next week with another group of friends. We did not have dessert, but am sure it would be good also. Very moderately, well priced. I highly recommend Karam.
Awful, got food poisoning!!! – I went for a birthday dinner, portions were not enough for what you pay, and the flavors were nothing to make me go back again. Well, and the best part, after I left I wasn't feeling that great already and sure enough, ended up throwing up all night long! Awful ! they are so many great lebanese restaurants in town, choose another one, no this one!!!
Absolutely Fabulous! – I love this place! The service is great, fast and friendly. The menu is extensive and the food is fresh and always tastes very good. Whenever we have guest to take out to dinner, we choose Karam's because we know the evening will be wonderful - good food, great service, warm and friendly staff - you can't go wrong when you choose Karams.
Family and group friendly too! All this and you won't empty your pocketbook!
At the top of my Portland restaurant list – When we walked in about 1/4 of the tables were filled with middle-eastern patrons--good sign. I'm no expert on Lebanese food, but all we had was great. Clearly a family run establishment which cares about each table.
Delicious Lebanese Food - Vegan Friendly, Too! – A pretty place, with a family feeling to it; the owner was very welcoming and made recommendations when we asked; portions are generous. I had an okra stew, my friend had kibbeh, a traditional meet and grain entree. We shared an order of baba ganoush and a bottle of Lebanese Cabernet. Everything was flavorful and perfectly seasoned. The wine was marvelous. I have already made plans to go back. Check it out.
Thankyou for the review. See you again
Loved everything – Love the food, the service, the atmosphere. One of my favorite places to dine.
Outstanding food and service – Overall, a great place for lunch or dinner
Absolutely Amazing – We live in Seattle and every time we come to Portland we eat at Karam. The food is absolutely delicious, the service is warm and attentive and the ambiance is inviting. The prices are amazingly reasonable. We can't recommend this restaurant highly enough!
best in town – best middle eastern menu, great prices, and the most cheerful friendly staff
