In Short – A 1910 pink saltbox house seductively beckons from the surrounding industrial landscape. The candlelit dining room transcends time with '40s posters, chinoiserie knickknacks and an antique fireplace mantel. Nine wooden tables seat only 32 guests creating an intimate dining experience. Dishes include spicy, battered salt-and-pepper okra and the crisp-fried yucca coated with tangy cilantro-mango chutney. Another standout is the tender Thai flatiron steak served with lettuce, sticky rice and pungent chili-lime sauce for do-it-yourself wraps.

We went early because we were We were seated immediately. And then it happened. We tried so many things....nothing that we had ever eaten before, and loved it all! The focaccio with GRAPES! Fab! the clams with beans,...unbelievable, pork cheeks that we were afraid to order was just a total delectable surprise...tasty, tender and delicious. We had a salad and another entree, plus we had to try the grape tart with carmel ice cream and salt, and even that was lick the plate delicious! Now I know why they are so busy! They deserve their reputation!

Cozy and absolutely delicious!

My foodie friend from out of town found Lovely Hula Hands in researching restaurants before her visit. My boyfriend and I had already walked by months ago and noticed how cute and cozy it looked and decided we wanted to go sometime, so we were looking forward to checking it out. We were prepared for a wait based on the reviews, so we made sure we weren't starving when we showed up. When we arrived we were greeted right away by a very friendly hostess. She told us it would be about 45 minutes and offered to write down a cell number and call us when the table was ready. We had a drink nearby and got a call in about 30 minutes. I said, "Okay, we'll be there in 3 minutes!" She said to take our time, no rush. We were seated downstairs in the cozy dining room and we ordered 3 of their delicious specialty cocktails. We shared a great arugula salad with shallots and pickled asparagus. There was a short list of entrees, but we still had trouble deciding. I got fried chicken, which sounds boring, but it was cooked to perfection and they definitely put a gourmet spin on it. My friend had an amazing pork chop that was also cooked perfectly and had incredible sides. The service was attentive and friendly. Overall, I was very happy with the experience. It was one of the nicest dinners I've had in a long time. I will definitely be back. I'm just hoping too many people don't discover it as well! ;-)

This is a great place!

This place is truly great. Went tonight with friends- there was a wait but we had a drink elsewhere while waiting for a table. After we were seated in the cutest dining room ever (upstairs), we had great cocktails and lovely salads (smoked trout, I believe). Service was spot on and knowledgeable, dinner arrived promptly and was delicious. I was told that the menu changes almost daily which is cool. All in all, a perfect place to spend the evening with friends over a good bottle of wine and a great meal.
- Pros: very cute with great food and drink
- Cons: was a long wait, but we were prepared for it on a Saturday night
