At the bottom of the 15th Ave. hill, just a jaunt from Alberta Street sits this uncrowded spot where regulars play Keno, and brunch is fast.

Very disappointing. We were there on a Saturday night, and we were the only patrons in the entire place. The service was suprisingly slow, considering our being the only customers. The food was bland. The only bright spot was dessert, an amaretto mousse-type thing that was silky and smooth. Go down the street 2 blocks to Acadia and try their cajun fare - it's the real thing!

Daddy Mojo's Review. This little neighborhood cafe is not anything to look at from the outide but the food is excellent. Good ole Southern Cooking. Country Fried Steak, Fried Okra, Grits....Yummy. If you ask for the grits, you may want to ask for them to be a moist, otherwise they tend to be very dry.

good mojo. Nothing fancy: but the meals are good & reasonably priced. i've been here twice, both times with people who are kind of fussy about their food, and they both went away happy and said they'd be willing to come back . Owner & waitstaff are amiable and attentive. Decor includes Cool B/W photographs of southern performers. Glad to hve this restaurant in my neighborhood-- and they've just added karaoke, tues-sat. My-te-fine.

Disappointing. I am also from the South and found this place to be disappointing. My ribs were so dry that they were hard to chew and my slaw was tasteless. I won't be eating here again.

Best Southern I've Had In Portland. I grew up in the South and this place is the real deal. Meatloaf sammiches, shrimp or oyster po'boys, and those kick butt burgers with the buns they make themselves, and Gumbo... Don't forget the Gumbo mmmmm!

Fun cafe, friendly staff. Fun spot to grab lunch with a distinctive Southern flavor. Leans a bit on the New Orleans/Creole/Cajun side, but not exclusive.

Hush puppies, sammiches and great desserts. We really enjoyed the home made food, presentation and the charm of the spot. Very relaxed feel.

Looking forward to checking out the bar some night too.

Great prices for lunch.

Two Fer Tuesdays / Friday special. Tuesday nights are the time to check out Mojo's Bar. A fabulous way to start out the night and get a deal on drinks. Also, Mojo's daily specials are packed with flavor. Friday's shrimp special is incredible and mouth watering. Shuck your shrimp on top of newspaper, right at your table.
