My favorite place to work out
by pajarito
I've been a member for 4 yrs and even though there ARE kids running around, the claims by MSJ2 are not accurate.
The machines are ALWAYS in excellent shape and not crammed. Obviously there are certain “prime” times when it is harder to find an empty spot but if you wait 10-15 mins, you'll most likely get what you want. The group fitness classes are TOP notch, and the Personal Trainers are fantastic. They are not only knowledgeable, but unlike other clubs, don't try to push supplements. I was a member (for a short period) of 24hr fitness and it was HORRBLE. The people in the front desk will do ANYTHING to get you to sign up, even use your personal phone # to ask you out to dinner.
I couldn't be happier with this gym. I absolutely love it, with running kids and all. (PS: I have no kids)
- Pros: Excellent Facility / Great Classes
- Cons: People @ Front Desk
Bad experience with Spa
by Honestly
i paid for a service, worth more than $100 plus the tips ---- the aesthetician, did not provide a robe, and had me lie down on this yellow sheet that i know has not been changed. At the end of waxing session, she put cream on top of the dirty sheet, and asked me just to whip it up with my fingers to apply to my skin. All the while while she was waxing me, I looked up the ceiling and saw cobwebs. The unsanitary appeal laying down on a sheet that the person could have easily changed before she let me in, made me feel unwelcome. I should have made a big deal, but I didn't --- I just told myself never to return!
- Pros: Example: best croissants in town
- Cons: sheets and linen has dirt marks, cobwebs on ceiling
Should be Hawthorne Daycare or Playground, not "athletic club"
by MSJ2
If you don't mind children running around unattended, machines crammed together and in disrepair, and highschool-age staff that seems to turnover weekly, then this is the place for you. Oh, did I mention they are also the highest-priced club in town? Might be fine if you have a family, lots of disposable income, and just want to drop the kids off for an afternoon -- but it is FAR from being a serious "athletic club."
- Pros: Some good classes, family-oriented
- Cons: Too many unsupervised kids; expensive fees
