45.549792 -122.675551Great Space - Great Artist Kristenlee !. A special thank you to Kristenlee ! I have never had such a good color and cut. You definitely pay attention to detail and you are an accomplished artist that loves what you do! And your new location has a great feel to it.
Best hair services anywhere- especially straightening! Dayna is great!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!. Always a greta experience at this salon- Dayna really knows what she is doing and makes you look great!
Rushed & Unimpressed.
The salon was behind schedule & I had to wait 20 min after my appointment time to get seated. I also felt I got rushed through & got an incomplete haircut that was a little wonky in the front. I fixed it myself at home later.
Also, I paid the extra $$ for the 'makover' consultation haircut, which consisted of, "did you bring a photo?," and that was the consultation. For my $90, (with tip) I felt kind of cheated. Oh, and other people say there's no sales pressure here, but I got the pitch on several products. Pretty space, though.
Belle Maggie. Maggie at Belle Epoque Salon is the most genuine, inspiring, creative person/stylist that I've ever met. When you sit in her chair, you do not just get hair rejuvenation, you literally get a chance to exhale and relax for possibly the first time in your day and have wonderful conversation with this intelligent woman. She makes you feel so important and listens to you with her full attention. When you leave you feel refreshed mind, body & soul. It is just great being in her presence and then having fabulous hair in the end is just a plus. Maggie you are wonderful!
Charming full service salon- But in NEED a receptionist!!!. Belle Epoque is a very charming and cozy salon. I have only ever had a cut and blowdry but they offer oh so many other delightful luxuries and host some original special events. I love that you can book your appointments on line via their website. Badly in need of a receptionist at my last visit. Dayna, a receptionist is vital to a salon or most any other business for that matter. Please hire one so your customers' future experiences can be optimal. Other than that, keep up the great work!
Won't make you look like an idiot.
I've been going to BE for years now. My stylist lately has been Maggie, and I like her as well as (if not better than, sorry) Dayna. I just made an appointment to have little bangs cut into my long hair, and I totally trust her to do it.
The stylists at BE will work with you and your hair to get what you want without letting you do something completely ridiculous that won't work with your hair type/face shape, whatever. For those concerned about $$, many of the other stylists are cheaper than Dayna herself, and do a damn fine job.
Also - minimum of meaningless chit-chat, if you're not into that beauty-shop-gossip thing. I'm not.
Fake Staff. Had my haircut, felt the hype, not going back. Besides feeling dirty I thought the owner was extremelly fake and kind-of creepy.
It's Great, But............. I have to first say that I love my haircut and the innovative qualities of this salon. I'm so addicted I can't go anywhere else.....well, maybe. The bond has been established....HOWEVER, I pay $60 for a haircut and more for color and I get charged to use my debit card which I think is the most ridiculous thing ever. If you're paying that much for a cut in Portland, and they can't even spare you the $1.75 service charge, it's almost embarrassing. I used to pay less and was never charged, EVER, to use my card. It's such a cheap move, it makes you wonder the motive behind it. I know, I know, I know, I love the cuts, just like you, I just think that the professional aspect of it could be bumped up a few notches to really make it top tier. A debit card charge? This isn't 7-11.
Love My Hair!. Gina is my stylist and she is awesome. I followed her from another salon. She cut my hair short and I get compliments daily. It is so easy to style! The location of the salon is in a quaint funky neighborhood and is relaxing, but professional. I look forward to going in.
It's all about my hair and my personal style.. I love my space. The biggest compliment I have recieved has been how the stylist listens. Our mission is our consultation. How do we want to feel and look in our lives. It's connection our mind body and soul into our image. I love coming to work and changing lives. I hope you will feel the same way!
