Cha Cha Cha Mexican Taqueria

Cha Cha Cha's expansive front patio means plenty of lazy summer days sipping Mango Tropical margaritas with your feet up. Watch the sun set with small children milling about while you much on an Oregon Harvest Burrito.

Filling & inexpensive. Traditional Mexican dishes, plus cuisine w/ a more NW flavor (e.g., salmon tacos & tempeh burritos).

Tips for Cha Cha Cha Mexican Taqueria

If you screw up someone's order and accidentally give them beef (even though they don't eat meat), if they drive back 6 miles to prove it to you after your smarmy, disbelieving attitude on the phone, learn how to APOLOGIZE. You have just lost a customer of 6.5 years because you couldn't admit a mistake. Terrible OWNER. What a rat. We are never going back. Careless service, horrible attitude. Uh, hello, you're in a SERVICE industry. If you hate it that much, go find another line of work.

Good food, Bad drinks. Everytime I have gone here the lady at the front will look at my ID for at least 10 minutes before she she decides that I am 21. I payed $7.00 for a Hornitos Margarita that tasted like dirty dish water. The food is good and I like that outside seating, from now on I will go there for food but if I am going to get a drink I will just order the house margarita

Talked about Customers in Spanish...Food Undercooked!. Unfortunently, this restaurant does not pride itself on customer service or on the food it serves. First off, it must be stated that staff should not assume that a customer does not know how to speak Spanish when they blatantly say something negative about them right in front of them! I specifically ordered my food without cheese and of course there ended up being a large amount in my chimichanga. My friend ordered taquitos, they were slobbered with grease and looked to be cooked from the outsides but were completely icy cold in the middle with the beef having a strange taste. I would highly recommend that you try another restaurant and not waste your time or money on rudeness and undercooked food!

Great Mexican food, from the standards to the unique... can get very busy. My favorite Mexican restaurant in town, or perhaps the whole state of Oregon!! First, the decor is very welcoming, be it a hot summer night on the patio or the warm colors inside to comfort you on a rainy autumn night. Excellent service, always a smiley staff--they're never to busy to give good service (although it can get very busy).

And the food....Tastes fresh, especially the pico de gallo, and always high quality. What I really like though, is the range, unlike other "Mexican" restaurants who only have the standard fare. If you feel in the mood for a regular, old chicken burrito, they got it (and they do it well); or enchiladas, they got it, (try the mole enchiladas!!!) And then to the more exotic and equally as good: Homemade tamales; rich mole; homememade horchata!!!, etc. And the tacos. Never have I had such genuine tacos, like they do it in Mexico. 2 tortillas, grilled to a slight brown, piled with meat, or veggies, and a sprinkle of onions and cilantro. Just like Mexico. On a cold winter night it almost takes you to a taco stand in a warm beach town in Mexico!!!

Great place. Im definitely a regular for a reason and think Portland has finally got a real Mexican restaurant!!!!

Great Food!!. It was a little weird at first walking in because you have to order your food at the counter and then find your own seat. The food was absolutely fabulous and very decently priced. Highly reccomended for any lover of mexican food. This is coming from someone from AZ and who has spent a lot of time in Mexico.

Fantastic and simple. Where else can you get such a great Burrito for less than $5. This place is fantastic in the summertime with a few friends, grab a drink, order a burrito and sit in the evening sun chillin'.

The portions are huge for the price and the service is simple and prompt

Don't eat the meat!. OK, let me preface my comments by saying that I am a Los Angeles native who loves Mexican food. Thusly, I've tasted some of the best authentic Mexican and 'fresh-mex' this side of Jalisco.

The Sellwod Cha Cha Cha is super cute, and especially nice to sit out on the patio in the summer. BUT- looks can be deceiving. Because of the decent prices I gave them several tries and everything I ate was terrible! How can you go wrong with a chicken burrito? Disgusting chicken, that's how! Mmmm, Carne Asada... right? Wrong again! Out of sheer convenience and because I was famished, I went in again one day recently and tried a bean, rice, and cheese burrito with pico de gallo. This they do well and cheap. So if you avoid the meat, they'll do in a pinch when you want cheap Mexican comfort food in a cozy atmosphere.

Taqueria classics served in a boldly painted house.. In Short
Comfortable and welcoming, the Sellwood location of this popular local taqueria is also impossible to miss, with its over-the-top magenta, saffron and purple color scheme. Inside, the bright colors are the primary decoration. The menu boasts the full run of taqueria favorites, including hefty burritos, enchiladas and superior tacos piled high with meat. The Cha is a toothsome and unusual hit: ground beef spiced with chilies, carrots, peas and diced potatoes.

Give this two cha cha's up. What a fun little "neighborhood" place. Love the patio however a bit more comfortable chairs would do. The food is amazing YUM and cheap! Someday I will maybe be able to finish that burrito. Self service water needs a bit of ice (available if you reach behind counter to soda machine) but the food over rides anything else.
