Editorial Review for Henry's 12th Street Tavern – by Ivy Manning
In Short
The bar draws a young crowd of athletic men and scantily clad women with a selection of 100 tap beers, plasma-screen TVs and a billiards room. A more subdued atmosphere prevails in the dining room, which boasts dramatic lighting and plush booths. The menu caters to the bar crowd with casual fare like crispy fries in addictive Gorgonzola sauce, huge burgers and basic sushi rolls.

This is a great spot to go and hang out with friends, take a date (be forewarned, it can get a little loud, but that just means you'll have to cuddle up to be able to carry on a conversation- not always a bad thing!), or just grab a beer and watch the people or sports on the huge screens! My girlfriends and I think that its fantastic because there are plenty of good looking people, but guys aren't going to try and pick you up constantly! Don't get me wrong- there's definatly some harmless flirting going on across the bar, but it's about as far from the 'meat market' scene as you can get while still being an interesting place to go! Not to mention, the beer selection is unrivaled- try the blueberry wheat, it's like blueberry cobbler, except beer! How cool is that?
Pros: GREAT happy hour! Great beer selection, great atmosphere, not a meat market
Cons: can be loud at times, hard to get service when it's busy, can be terribly difficult to find a seat when it's busy

The husband and I walked up here from the Benson (who's staff recommended it) one night when it was late and we were tired and just wanted something simple and tasty to eat. He had a burger and I had the fish sandwich with halibut (you can also choose salmon). We were both quite happy with our food. Will definitely go back next time we're in town. The place was a bit noisy but that may have been because I was tired. I did wish someone would tell the oblivious women in the next booth that the staircase was not a playground for her bratty kid.
Pros: Good food, convenient to downtown hotels.
Cons: Irresponsible parents who bring small children to what is basically a bar.
