Best in Portland!

This is definately not a 32 flavors type place with a ton of flavors, but they still have a really good selection of high quality, great tasting desserts. They usually have only a few vegan soy soft-serve flavors to choose from, but they rotate what flavors they carry. You can also get milk (& soy) shakes, sundaes, and cookies. Scooters is very vegan friendly-- they label their toppings and will glady answer your questions. The prices are not cheap, but moderately priced (example $4 for a milk shake) and the portions are pretty large.

Also a great thing about Scooters is the atmosphere, very laid back, kid-friendly. There is interesting local art and you can hang out inside and listen to music. You can also chill outside on Belmont. The neighborhood is a really great scene with many other shops, bars, and places to eat.

  • Pros: Tastes Great, Vegan/Organic, Laid back scene

Place to go to get soy ice cream and goodies

by lynntofu

The day I went there they only had 1 Varity of soy ice cream it was soft serve chocolate. I saw the add in the Willamette weekly and knew I had to make a trip from Vancouver all the way to Belmont to try some soy ice cream. It was my first time there and I was a little disappointed thinking they'd have a case full to choose from. I got the chocolate soy blizzard. They were out of the Newman Oreos so I got the chocolate chips added in. Too many were added in, but the blizzard was yummy. Vegan ice cream sandwiches were also available.

  • Pros: soy ice cream, vegan & orgainic, sugar free
  • Cons: 1 soy flavor to choos
